Chapter 786 - Chapter 786: The Superior Spider-Man and His Superior Six (?)

"The best thing the Avengers ever did was kick that damn Spider-Man out of the Avengers! He has fully proven that he is nothing but a lawless criminal! He is a shameless scumbag with zero sense of responsibility or moral fiber."

It was unbelievable. Peter Parker had actually put up with this garbage individual for over a year. He really had too mild of a temper. It was a shame that this guy was already set in his ways, and J. Jonah Jameson was notoriously unafraid of death and completely stubborn; even if he went to threaten the man himself, it wouldn't mean a thing.

The Superior Spider-Man thought this to himself as he landed on a rooftop. He then looked down at the gangsters before him. Barely a few minutes later, an alleyway full of gangster corpses appeared below.

Returning to the rooftop, the Superior Spider-Man remained silent, pondering what he should do next. He basically hadn't inherited any of Peter Parker's social relationships, nor did he intend to keep them going. May Parker was manageable enough; she had already become somewhat quiet and withdrawn after her husband's death. As for school, Otto Octavius never felt that childish academic matters could ever be a factor that affected him.

He could even handle the bullies with absolute ease.

Women were something he chose not to think about at all. Women would only slow down his speed in dealing with enemies.

"But why does my Spider-Sense keep ringing?"

"Calling it 'my' Spider-Sense, you really are quite shameless."

The voice contradicting Otto was one that felt both highly familiar and somewhat strange. He turned around and witnessed a completely unbelievable sight. Another Spider-Man emerged from a portal. No, not just any Spider-Man—judging by the style of the suit, this was undoubtedly another "Superior Spider-Man." Furthermore, two other very normally dressed Spider-Men appeared behind him.

In an instant, Otto ruled out the possibility that the enemies in front of him were an illusion, arriving at a more logical conclusion: "I didn't expect that an Otto Octavius from another universe would manage to research a multiverse-crossing teleportation device a step ahead of me. And it seems I'm not even your first invitee."

"I have no interest in making small talk with you." The opposing Superior Spider-Man issued a direct warning to Otto: "If you truly intend to turn over a new leaf and consider yourself the Superior Spider-Man, then right now, immediately return this body to its original owner, Peter Parker. After that, I will give you a new, far more powerful body so you can try being that Superior Spider-Man."

"What kind of total bullshit are you talking about?!"

The opposite side didn't waste any more words. He simply deactivated the suit's mask nanites, revealing a face. Now Otto knew why the other party's voice sounded different from his own, yet still familiar.

Because his own current voice was Peter Parker's, whereas the other party's voice belonged to Otto Octavius. Beneath that Superior Spider-Man suit was the youthful face of Otto Octavius. He just stood there, looking at the version of himself from another world, delivering a final ultimatum.

"I will say it one more time. Return this body to its owner."

"Or what?"

"There is no 'or what.' You will die, and then you will return this body to its owner."

With no further waste of breath, both sides instantly clashed. The local Otto immediately deployed the mechanical claws on the back of his suit, while simultaneously unleashing a searing ray that struck the two lackeys behind the visitor. One Spider-Man was blasted flying by a laser, while the other was pierced straight through. From the punctured wound, countless thick, green blood splattered out, followed by a swarm of endless spiders pouring from the injury.

"What on earth is that?"

"Allow me to introduce my teammate. This is Spiders-Man. He is actually a massive swarm of mutant spiders that devoured a kid named Peter Parker and gained his consciousness. Of course, the Peter Parker of certain universes has a very similar enemy named Carl King."

Spiders-Man instantly dissolved into countless crawling swarms and rushed toward Otto. Horrified, Otto hastily propelled himself into the air, immediately utilizing his high mobility to evade. But the moment he swung up, his Spider-Sense flared violently. Simultaneously, he was struck by a cannon blast, crashing back onto the roof, bouncing high into the air before slamming down once again.

The Spider-Man who had been knocked down by the laser reverted his right hand from a mechanical cannon back into an arm. Looking at Otto's disapproving gaze, he shrugged helplessly: "Don't worry, it wasn't lethal firepower. At least, not for a Spider-Man."

"This one is... Cyborg Spider-Man. I don't know why he calls himself that. As you can see, he's a robot. But strictly speaking, he is an Ultron from a certain universe created with Peter Parker's brainwaves as his cognitive baseline, who then built himself a Spider-Man body. To be honest, he isn't a Spider-Man totem nor is he just a robot, so I find it odd why he chose to do this too."

"If you're wondering how I'm going to kill you while also resurrecting Peter Parker himself... well, I have other helpers."

A web-shaped portal opened up behind Otto. Struggling to his feet, Otto turned around and saw two more Spider-Men stepping out. One was a burning skeleton holding chains, while the other was a Spider-Man clad entirely in black, whose web-shooters had clearly been modified into firearm structures, sporting a massive skull logo on his chest and a belt packed with magazines and grenades.

"Burn his soul, Ghost Rider, but do not damage this body. Punisher, give it to me."

The Superior Spider-Man took a syringe brought over by Punisher Spider-Man, then looked at the Otto Octavius who had been hoisted up by Ghost Rider Spider-Man.

"The Jackal's technology is highly effective. Just a tiny bit of DNA material is enough to restore a person's entire memory, and even grant them a soul... This way, I can boldly and without reservation wipe out every Otto Octavius across the multiverse who, on one hand, thinks he owes Peter Parker, but on the other hand, thinks he's superior and refuses to die."

When Peter and Cindy arrived in this universe, this was the exact scene they witnessed. Five Spider-Men from different dimensions, none of whom looked particularly normal, had pinned down the Superior Spider-Man of this universe, did something to him, and then tossed him to the ground.

The other party clearly realized their presence as well. The visitor Superior Spider-Man turned around and looked toward Peter.

"...It seems you know who he is, or rather, who I am. Fascinating. I thought your first words would be to shout 'Stop,' Peter Parker."

"I did intend to shout it, but by the time I got here, you had already thrown him to the ground."
