By the next day, Peter was still pondering the specific details. The crux of the matter lay in whether Mysterio's devices could truly deceive the enemy. According to Elektra herself, if the Hand did not personally "resurrect" her corpse, they would likely never be convinced.
While this entire process could theoretically be simulated using Mysterio's helmet, it would be nearly impossible to pull off without knowing the internal secrets—such as the specific steps and flow of the resurrection ritual.
Peter had come to school alone that morning. He sat at his desk, twirling a pen. Cindy, who habitually arrived early, saw him already there and walked over with a look of slight confusion. Peter stood up to give her a seat.
"Is something wrong? You're here so early."
"No, not really. I just wanted a place to think things through. My morning patrol was pretty quiet, so I figured I'd head to school early."
Peter continued twirling his pen, muttering to himself, "How can we guarantee they think they've secured a corpse, when in reality the person is still alive?"
"Would an LMD work?"
In response to Cindy's suggestion, Peter shook his head. "They'll definitely try to perform an autopsy or something similar. A standard LMD isn't nearly sophisticated enough for that."
"Then, what about an LMD that functions almost exactly like a human body? Would that do?"
Peter paused, looking at Cindy with a look of uncertainty. "Does such an LMD actually exist? And even if it does, wouldn't Hydra know about it?"
Though she wasn't entirely sure what Peter was planning, since he had mentioned Hydra, Cindy assumed he was working against them. She provided an answer: "It should be possible. Those are the ones Fury provided for my family. Supposedly, they're a new model he developed himself; they aren't part of the standard S.H.I.E.L.D. blueprints."
Peter's interest was instantly piqued. If an LMD could truly fool the enemy, then any minor discrepancies could be smoothed over using Mysterio's helmet.
"If that's the case, I really need one. Cindy, can you help me contact Nick Fury? I'd like to meet with him."
Cindy nodded. Then, as if remembering something, she added, "If you aren't being watched too closely, Fury should have plenty of other methods for faking a death. I just don't know exactly what kind you need."
"Well, that's a bit complicated to explain—"
"You don't have to explain it to me. If there's a need, you can tell Fury yourself."
Peter was stunned for a good while before finally managing a "Thank you."
He then pulled out his phone to check his messages. After a night of self-healing, good news had finally arrived regarding Daken and X-23—at least, they weren't dead. After Beast's high-spec "super-assembly," the two of them had actually survived.
One had to remember they had bombs planted inside their bodies; surviving that felt like something beyond the capabilities of an ordinary human.
The reason Peter was so invested in this was that Daken had been taken in by the Hand as a child and raised as an assassin. Therefore, he likely possessed an intimate understanding of the Hand's inner workings. With the help of Professor X or another telepath, combined with the X-Men's Danger Room, they might be able to reconstruct a wealth of information about the Hand.
"I just hope Daken wakes up in time, and that he still remembers or knows these things. Plus, whether those immortal ninjas can be fooled by Mysterio's helmet is another concern. All in all, this is a real headache."
Muttering to himself, Peter narrowed his eyes. What they needed to do now was take the initiative against the Hand. The general framework was already set. Kingpin would certainly not pass up a chance to corrupt Daredevil, so he would send Bullseye to kill Elektra. This would drive Matt into a blind rage—similar to when Daredevil killed Karen—ideally leading him to "kill" Bullseye.
Kingpin and Bullseye assumed Matt was unaware of Bullseye's healing factor, so they believed Matt would break his no-kill rule. Once that happened, Daredevil would fall. That was Kingpin's—or at least Bullseye's—script. Bullseye had already made a move against Kitty while they were dealing with the Hand previously.
As for the Hand, based on Peter's intel, once Elektra was killed and Matt broke his rule, the Hand would inevitably intervene. They would tell Matt he could use the Hand's power to reshape Hell's Kitchen and offer the resurrection of Elektra as a bargaining chip to bring him into the fold.
In fact, Peter suspected Kingpin and the Hand might already be connected. Otherwise, why were all the other gangs being purged while the Prowler and Bullseye remained unscathed? It couldn't just be because they were hiding in Fisk Tower.
"So, as long as we make Bullseye believe he actually killed Elektra, and make the Hand believe they actually resurrected her, the plan will be a success. Then Matt can infiltrate the Hand from the inside and become a gang leader... Why does that sound so weird?"
If Nick Fury could solve the body double issue and guarantee Elektra's safety, Matt would likely agree to the plan. The only remaining concern was how to deceive the Hand's senses—making them believe they had successfully completed the resurrection ritual and brought Elektra back themselves, rather than Elektra never having died in the first place.
"No, theoretically we don't even need to go that far. We just need to get Matt inside the Hand. If he carries a Norn Stone, or if Cloak is shrunk down with Pym Particles, the Defenders can just storm the Hand's headquarters and end it all at once."
Thinking of this, Peter let out a smile and stretched. He could already envision the Hand being wiped out in one fell swoop. Right then, Cindy gave him some good news.
"Nick Fury replied."
Cindy checked her surroundings to ensure no other students were nearby before speaking. Peter instantly perked up. "What did Fury say?"
"He said he'll meet you. The location is the Web Base."
"Oh, I've already moved out of the Web Base. Does he know where my new base is?"
"He said he knows where your new base is. He also said... he said he suggests young people shouldn't get too addicted to games, and especially shouldn't use such high-spec computers to play them."
Playing games? I haven't been playing games. Where would I find the time?
After a moment of hesitation, Peter realized exactly who had been using the computers at the Web Base to play games.
