"I know exactly what card is on your field, You Feng. You don't need to put on an act," Kagemaru said, his gaze sinking. "You should be well aware of the card on my field, too. Are you saying all this just to try and scare me out of using it?"
Kagemaru felt the heavy pressure of You Feng's aura, but his golden pupils remained fixed on his opponent, looking as if they could pierce through a person's soul.
"Your mind games won't work on me! I activate my Continuous Trap, Imperial Order! While this card is active, all Spells on the field are negated. During each Standby Phase, both players must pay 700 Life Points, or the card will be destroyed."
"With this, your Spells are useless against my Uria, and the same goes for your Traps. I'd like to see what else you can possibly do! Haha!" Kagemaru's gaze turned sharp as a blade. Uria,
Lord of Searing Flames could be reborn from death indefinitely, and it grew stronger with every resurrection. With Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder also on the field, even the Three Egyptian Gods would be helpless!
"Uria, Lord of Searing Flames, attack The Winged Dragon of Ra! Hyper Blaze!!" Kagemaru bellowed as Uria soared across the field.
"I activate Ra's effect," You Feng declared with a sneer. "By paying 1,000 Life Points, it transforms into its Egyptian God Phoenix form. Then, I destroy one monster on your field. The one I choose is Uria! God Phoenix!!"
You Feng waved his hand. A golden light flashed, and his LP dropped by 1,000, leaving him with 2,000. Uria was only halfway through its attack when it was intercepted by Ra's Phoenix form. With a single blast of the God Phoenix, the Sacred Beast was reduced to ash!
The collision between the massive Sacred Beast and the Egyptian God echoed through the sky. Everyone watching felt their hearts racing, their blood boiling with the intensity of the atmosphere.
"So this is the duel between the Sacred Beasts and the Egyptian Gods..." Jaden Yuki muttered, speechless. The magnificent flames in the sky were a sight that left him in awe.
"Mamma Mia! Just one collision and the impact is already this huge? What would happen if all three Sacred Beasts and Egyptian Gods were out at once? No ne!" Professor Crowler was gobsmacked.
"Heh... You Feng, if this is the only trick you have to block my offensive, it won't be long before you can't support yourself anymore," Kagemaru sneered.
"Will you still have Ancient Forest next turn?" You Feng asked, his golden eyes flashing as a smirk played on his lips.
Kagemaru froze. It was only because of Ancient Forest that he had managed to evade the attack reduction from Slifer the Sky Dragon's Lightning Strikes. If he didn't have it next turn, he was in real trouble.
"I set one card and end my turn!" Kagemaru gritted his teeth. No matter what, if he didn't hold on, he would be in a world of trouble.
"Heh... haven't you all noticed yet?" You Feng asked, looking at Kagemaru with a playful smile.
"Ever since the two Sacred Beasts appeared, the life force of all your monster cards has been absorbed by me. That is why the Three Sacred Beasts were sealed. For my rebirth, I need the vitality of your monsters!" As Kagemaru spoke, streams of energy began to seep out from the cards of the surrounding students.
"My cards..." Chazz saw Ojama Yellow crying out for help.
"Mine too... Damn it!" Alexis Rhodes frowned, looking at her deck in frustration.
"Mamma Mia!" Professor Crowler was stunned once again.
In that moment, Kagemaru's body underwent a transformation. His aged frame rejuvenated, his body returning to its youth, and he leapt out of his life-support vat.
"Is... is that the Chairman?" Chancellor Sheppard was shell-shocked.
"A machine like this is no longer necessary!" Kagemaru reached out, grabbing the device with immense strength and crushing it.
"Cheap tricks..."
"It's my turn, draw!" You Feng remained as calm and composed as ever. Even though this version of Kagemaru was at least twice as strong as the one Jaden had faced in the anime, You Feng didn't fear him.
In the anime, Kagemaru had simply rushed to summon the three beasts and didn't utilize Imperial Order. With that card on the field, the Sacred Beasts reached their peak power. Since the Sacred Beasts generally weren't threatened by Traps, locking down Spells made them nearly invincible.
Of course, his own Spells would be locked down too. But if he saw a chance for an OTK, he would naturally let Imperial Order be destroyed. This was a significant boost in tactical skill.
Furthermore, Kagemaru now understood how to properly utilize Spells before summoning, rather than just spamming them like in the anime. That was the second source of his increased strength.
You Feng knew this Nightmare level Kagemaru wouldn't be easy to deal with, but he still had absolute faith in the power of the Three Egyptian Gods.
