"Luna?" a gentle voice called.
My body jolted. My breath caught in my throat, whilst my heart pounded so fiercely it seemed ready to burst from my chest.
I had never heard that voice with my own ears, not in the real world, nor when this world had still been nothing more than a game. And yet, the deepest part of me recognised it.
No.
I should not have recognised them.
I had never met these two people before. At least, not as the person I was now.
Then why did my chest ache so much?
Why did I want to run to them?
And why… before my mind could find an answer, were tears already streaming down my cheeks?
The memories Adhama and Hawra implanted stirred, then unfolded one after another. They weren't memories I had lived through, but fragments of another Luna's life—so vivid that their emotions seeped into me, too.
I slowly turned around.
