Asher sat speechless as he stared at the three people before him. They seemed less than human; they had been degraded to animals at this point. Even tamed beasts weren't treated this badly. Tamed beasts were fed, trained, cleaned, and cared for, but not them.
Originally, Asher had thought that Viscount Raymond maybe had them under surveillance through his guards to prevent them from fleeing the Viscounty, or perhaps had captured them and kept them somewhere where he still fed them, clothed them, and the likes.
He had never expected something like this. He hadn't foreseen that Viscount Raymond would push things to this degree.
The worst part was that there was simply no need for any of this. Teo Swig hadn't seen his family in three years since he was accepted into the Star Academy, meaning that there was no way for the boy to communicate with his family.
So what was Viscount Raymond even trying to achieve by chaining this family up and reducing them to such a state?
