Tang San followed closely behind Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang, heading towards the area where the Crown Prince was resting.
They had seen Xue Qinghe from afar on the first day of the Soul Master Competition.
However, Shrek Academy wasn't famous then, and Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang didn't dare take Tang San to visit Xue Qinghe; even if they went, the prince might not be willing to receive them.
But now it was different. Shrek Academy had decisively won first place in the Heaven Dou region, especially Tang San, whose terrifying talent amazed everyone.
Twin martial souls, the terrifying control of the Blue Silver Grass, and the terrifying attack power of the Clear Sky Hammer—such outstanding talent made many people envious and jealous.
Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang smiled as they walked, saying, "With your performance in the competition, Xue Qinghe will definitely give us a warm welcome and will certainly invite you to serve the royal family. However, you don't need to accept his invitation; just maintain a friendly relationship with him."
"Teacher, I understand," Tang San said.
The master sighed, "What a pity. If we had befriended the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School earlier, we would have become friends with Xue Qinghe through Ning Fengzhi long ago, instead of waiting until now."
Tang San smiled, "Teacher, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. If we had met Xue Qinghe through Ning Fengzhi, it would only mean that Xue Qinghe was only doing it because of Ning Fengzhi, and might not have valued me. But now, my talent and strength have been demonstrated. I don't need to rely on anyone anymore; I can gain Xue Qinghe's attention on my own."
The master paused for a moment, then suddenly laughed, "Little San, you see things very clearly. Every cloud has a silver lining, doesn't it? Hahaha..."
Seeing his teacher so happy, Tang San also smiled.
Before long, the master and disciple arrived at the area where His Highness the Crown Prince was resting.
There were many more soldiers guarding this area than in other places. As soon as the master and Tang San approached, they were stopped.
This scene immediately attracted the attention of several academies nearby, who all looked over.
"Halt! What are you doing?" the leading soldier shouted.
The master, with a friendly smile, said, "Hello, I am a master from Shrek Academy. This is my disciple, Tang San. We wish to pay a visit to His Highness the Crown Prince."
"Go away, go away! Leave immediately and don't disturb His Highness's rest," the leading soldier said rudely.
This scene was witnessed by the surrounding teachers and students, who all wore expressions of anticipation.
The master paused for a moment, then forced a smile again, saying, "We are from Shrek Academy, the academy that won first place in the advancement competition. We would be grateful if you could convey our message to His Highness the Crown Prince. If His Highness does not wish to see us, we will leave immediately."
The master lowered his posture, speaking with greater respect, though his voice was softer, afraid of being overheard by the other academies.
He had to lower his stance; being turned away without even seeing His Highness the Crown Prince would be too humiliating.
Shrek Academy couldn't afford to lose face under the watchful eyes of so many academies.
Therefore, the master preferred to humble himself and fawn over this soldier, whose cultivation was even lower than his own, just to see Xue Qinghe.
Standing behind the master, Tang San's fists clenched involuntarily at the sight.
"There are always these bullying dogs everywhere!" Tang San thought angrily.
Looking at this scene, he recalled the time he was bullied and beaten at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School, and his anger intensified.
However, this time, he didn't impulsively attack.
Having experienced so much, his temperament had matured; he had learned to be patient. Some things, if resolved with force, would only make things worse.
"Teacher Erlong is right, a true man can bend and stretch," Tang San comforted himself, his anger gradually subsiding, and his clenched fists slowly loosening.
Hearing the master's words, the leading soldier's tone softened, saying, "You wait here, don't barge in."
"No, no," the master quickly replied.
The leading soldier then turned and walked towards the Crown Prince's carriage, which was being protected in the center.
Grandmaster glanced back at Tang San, worried that he might be concerned, and reassured him, "Don't worry, His Highness the Crown Prince is always courteous to scholars and will definitely see us."
Tang San nodded and hummed in agreement.
Meanwhile,
Qian Renxue sat quietly in her carriage, her thoughts drifting back to Wuhun City, missing the man she longed for.
The thought of returning to Wuhun City and spending time with her beloved filled her with restlessness.
Images of blush-inducing moments with Ao Tian flashed through her mind, and her body began to feel somewhat uneasy.
Women often experience loneliness, especially when their beloved is not by their side.
That kind of lonely longing is agonizing.
She longs to appear before her beloved immediately, to throw herself into his arms, and to revel in his love.
Just as Qian Renxue's emotions were running high, and her love intensified, an untimely voice rang out outside the carriage.
"Your Highness, someone outside requests an audience," the soldier leader said respectfully.
Qian Renxue's thoughts of Ao Tian were interrupted, and a surge of anger welled up within her. She roared, "I won't see him!"
The soldier leader hesitated for a moment, then said, "That man said he's a master from Shrek Academy, and he's brought his disciple Tang San to visit you."
Qian Renxue paused, then a cold smile appeared on her face. "Tell them to get lost! If they don't leave, beat them until they do."
Ao Tian had mentioned the master and Tang San to Qian Renxue before, so she knew their backgrounds perfectly well.
One was expelled from the Spirit Hall, and the other was the son of Tang Hao of the Clear Sky Sect; both had grudges against the Spirit Hall. It was no wonder Qian Renxue would refuse to see them.
Especially since these two had so foolishly interrupted her enjoyment; how could she not be furious?
The soldier leader outside was taken aback by Qian Renxue's order, but quickly recovered and said, "Yes, sir."
He then turned and strode towards Grandmaster and Tang San, a murderous aura already etched on his face.
Qian Renxue rolled down the car window a crack, watching Grandmaster and Tang San waiting in the distance with a cold smile.
She could clearly see the smiles on their faces; they seemed to be in good spirits.
"Teacher, that person is back," Tang San suddenly said.
Grandmaster turned around and, sure enough, saw the soldier leader who had gone to report quickly returning.
A smile appeared on Grandmaster's face as he straightened his clothes, about to speak, when he felt Tang San tug at his clothes from behind.
"Teacher, something's not right," Tang San said gravely, lowering his voice behind Grandmaster.
Just as Tang San finished speaking, the soldier leader approached Grandmaster and shouted, "Get out of here!"
His shout was heard by hundreds of teachers from over a dozen surrounding academies, who all turned to look at the scene in astonishment.
Grandmaster was stunned, not understanding why the soldier leader had suddenly become so angry.
He quickly asked, "Excuse me, what happened? Does His Highness the Crown Prince refuse to see us?"
Grandmaster was filled with doubt. His Highness the Crown Prince was known for his humility and gentleness; even if he didn't want to see them, his attitude shouldn't be so hostile.
"Something must have happened," he thought to himself.
