Chapter 315: One Punch Man Travels to Marvel (Part 2)

[The serious punch you threw out on instinct caused quite a few side effects. Since the battle took place near the Hudson River estuary, that punch not only blew away the entire ruins of Hudson River Park's historic walkway but also vaporized the broken Statue of Liberty standing at the river mouth. You instinctively looked up at the satellites in the sky—hopefully they won't make you pay for it? (You've earned the achievement: Peerless Calamity.)]

[June 9, 2030. You spent the past month on edge, but luckily, no one came looking for you! The news this month was both good and bad. The good news: that Jack of Hearts guy turned out to be an Alpha-level mutant, one of the world's top combat powers—far more valuable than you expected—enough to let Dave get promoted to a four-star hero. He's now New York's new idol, and you can openly buy discounted items, even snag the latest game consoles and limited-edition foods for free. The bad news, however, is this: is this world's so-called "top combat power" really only at that level?]

[July 4, 2030. You finally mustered the courage to take the hero qualification test. At the official Survivor Base, you met the five-star hero Doctor Strange. He looked at you once, then twice, as if he couldn't process what he was seeing. You ignored him. The test results showed your physical stats completely off the charts—even breaking Spider-Man's record—but you scored zero on every written exam. As a result, you became a one-star hero. This scene feels awfully familiar, doesn't it? But you don't mind—it's fine, after all, you're just a hero for fun.]

[August 2030. Over the month, you completed seven or eight bounty missions, causing serious trouble for both the Joker Gang and the Illuminati. But only two bounties really stuck in your memory. The fifth one came from the Joker Gang's "Sinister Twelve": Scorpion, Vulture, Sandman, Electro, Chameleon, Lizard, Hydro-Man, Boomerang, Tombstone, Shocker, and Hammerhead. They used their numbers to launch a tidal wave of attacks against you—but with a few casual swings of your arm, you blocked them all, then sent them flying with a single careless punch. Another one-hit victory. So boring! (You've earned the achievement: Twelve Angry Men.)]

[The most dangerous bounty was when your target ran into the only supermarket in the neighborhood. To avoid property damage, you let him beat on you for fifteen minutes straight. Once he got overconfident and stepped outside, you finished him off instantly with a "Supermarket Sale Punch."]

[You also ran into a lizard-like monster named Hawkeye, apparently a high-ranking member of the Illuminati, along with his squad of agents. He actually tried to shoot you and Dave with his bow—shooting while running, while shooting again. It reminded you of that infuriating "JP dominance" in fighting games—what, is this called zoning?! You thought he was strong, but one slightly serious Normal Punch completely crushed him, leaving behind only his special weapons and quiver. (You've obtained Weapon: [Black Bull Recurve Bow]; and Item: [Multifunctional Quiver].)]

[Your string of actions dealt heavy blows to both the Illuminati and the Joker Gang—but unfortunately, your personal driver Dave became your scapegoat. Since he was always present when you defeated monsters, no one believed his denials. Not long after, he was officially certified by the Survivor Base as the fifth five-star hero.]

[You didn't really mind. You don't care about hero rankings anyway—and you actually respect Dave. Sometimes, what makes a hero isn't power, but kindness. He's even training hard following your methods. Who knows—maybe he'll become the next you someday. What actually bothers you more is the gaming part. Because he plays with you every day, he's improved a lot. Now he can even crush you at full health. Unforgivable!]

[August 21, 2030. You were at home when you met Doctor Strange again—the five-star hero. You don't even know how he found you despite your low profile. He told you he knew you were a traveler from another world. As the current Sorcerer Supreme and Earth's guardian, he had observed countless timelines recently, and concluded that only you might be able to save this world—since in every timeline where you exist, almost no one can defeat you—]

[The moment you heard the word "almost," you immediately interrupted him and demanded to know who could defeat you. After hesitating, Doctor Strange told you: the Immortal Hulk, whose power increases infinitely with anger; the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. turned Dark Avenger Zhou Ning, who might one day wield the Infinity Gauntlet; and finally, the Sentry—"Void"—a being with the power of a million exploding suns.]

[Immortal Hulk. Another you. The Sentry! You instantly felt your blood boiling. You realized that this world actually had another version of you—and he was just as strong!]

[You immediately agreed to Doctor Strange's request, on one condition: you wanted a fight with the Sentry. You've been too bored for too long—unable to enjoy the thrill of real combat, your fights ending with a single punch. It's made you lonely.]

[You guessed Doctor Strange probably wanted to observe the timelines first to decide whether to stop you—but when you stared at him blankly, he could only agree. His condition was that you join the soon-to-be-formed New Avengers to launch a counterattack against the Illuminati and the Joker Gang. That was fine by you—you also wanted to fight Hulk and your counterpart from this world.]

[August 24, 2030. You finally met the legendary Sentry—a tall, muscular blond man. As agreed, you two found an empty ocean to fight in. This was the man Doctor Strange claimed could defeat you! You didn't hesitate to throw a relatively serious punch—and he passed out instantly! You shook your head and were about to call him an ambulance or something when he suddenly stopped you. Upon waking, he clearly entered his berserk state—one punch made blood trickle from your mouth, almost sending you flying to the moon. The shockwave caused a ten-meter tsunami—the scene looked like "ice magic." At least for that moment, his strength surpassed yours.]

[Strong. Really strong! This must be his "Void" personality! You could even sense he was holding back—if he went all out, he'd probably destroy the planet. Well then, you might as well save a little strength too! You dodged his energy fields using a "Serious Back-and-Forth Jump," then countered with Serious Punches and Serious Consecutive Punches, trading blow for blow. Every punch landed heavy and true. Whenever you feel true excitement and fighting spirit, your power surges exponentially. After forty minutes of combat, Doctor Strange finally intervened to stop you two, and the Sentry reverted to his frail human form. The match ended in a draw. (You've earned the achievement: Battle of the Furious Seas.)]

[September 2030. At the official Survivor Base, you met the legendary Spider-Man—Peter Parker—as well as a man named Nick Fury. You felt some affinity for Fury since you shared the same hairstyle—both bald. Maybe you'd look more stylish with a wig?]

[Peter Parker was a motor-mouth RAP OG, talking non-stop like a rapper. When he saw you and Nick Fury standing together, his first words were: "Are you guys brothers?" Your fist itched immediately.]

[Nick Fury was the founder of the New Avengers. Its members were you, Spider-Man, Tony Stark, Doctor Strange, the Sentry, and a gorilla named Winston. Dave was an off-the-record member. Quite an odd lineup.]

[You weren't fighting alone though—the Survivor Base was also home to the Fantastic Four, led by five-star hero and base commander Reed Richards. They would join you in the war against the Joker Gang and the Illuminati.]

[Tony Stark was an arrogant man. At first, he doubted your strength—until Nick Fury showed him satellite footage. His face turned green instantly, and he immediately began developing the "Anti-One Punch Armor."]
