"Was it you who kidnapped my son—Nora Scott?"
Evelyn Winter's towering rage instantly subsided.
Clement Winter took timely steps forward and obediently greeted his mother, "Mrs. Winter."
Not bothering to acknowledge him, Evelyn Winter glanced around, made up her mind, and pushed Clement aside, walking towards Nora Scott asking, "Did you rescue this kid?"
"Yes."
Nora Scott replied.
Then called out, "Winter."
Evelyn Winter nodded, noting down the favor, "Thanks."
As she spoke, she turned to look at the innocent-faced Clement Winter, frowning and questioning, "How come you, a grown man, let them kidnap you?"
"..."
Aware that Evelyn Winter must have been worried all the way, Clement Winter tightened his lips, feeling aggrieved and daring not to retort.
Eli Linfield, being kind-hearted, took the initiative to speak up: "It's actually quite good; resisting might get you beaten."
