[in the hallway]
John is walking through the hallways, heading to Thorns office with Elesa on his shoulder, while Lania is walking right behind him, she can't stop thinking about how John stepped in for her.
Lania: (he stepped in to protect me, but why, he clearly didn't mention anything about protecting me, *Sniffling* wait, I know what he's up to, he's going to make me a part of his endless harem!!).
Again, the dark romance fantasy is taking her imagination way too far from reality.
Lania: (I knew it, he's just going to make me a mindless girl that's so obsessed with him, luckily I'm still self aware and now I'm going to make you show your true colors) excuse me, Mr shon, I have something to ask.
John looks at her with a little surprised expression on his face.
John: Hmmm? What is it?
Lania forces the words to come out of her mouth.
Lania: I wanted to know, why did you put yourself in danger to protect me from the high ranking students? You might've been expelled from the academy, so why?
A playful little smirk appears on John's face as he heard that.
John: hmmm, how about you take a guess before I tell you.
Lania: are you serious?
John: yes I am, you could say I want to know how you see me as a person.
Lania: (this is some kind of joke right? I know there's more to it than this, Hmph, very well I'll tag along with your game) well, if anyone saw what you did they will think of you as a brave and noble man.
John: hmmm, and what about you?
Lania: I think the reason why you helped me back there, is because you still need something from me, is that right?
John smiles gently and answer her with a calm and confident tone.
John: you're not wrong about that, I clearly still need a way to communicate with your tribe, and you perfectly serve that purpose.
Lania looked a little annoyed knowing that he only saved her from an International trial is because he wants someone to deliver his messages to her tribe.
Lania: so you did all that because you needed a deliverer?
John: I believe delivering a message or two to your tribe would be a good favor to pay me back for saving you from whatever was going to happen to you.
Lania: *sigh* alright I understand.
After a while, They reach Thorn's office, and just when Lania was about to knock on the door, John pushes the door with his foot and opens it with force.
For a moment there, Lania is frozen in her place trying to process what on earth is she doing with this lunatic.
Lania: (WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING?!!! THE ONLY PERSON WHO COULD HELP US IS SITTING INSIDE THIS ROOM, AND HE'S THE PRINCIPAL OF THE WHOLE ACADEMY, DON'T YOU HAVE ANY MANNERS AT ALL?!! *sop* *sob* if the snow Elves didn't kill me I believe this Maniac is going to do it).
When the door crashed, Thorn starts threatening them but when they walk inside he immediately regrets it.
Thorn: WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS?!! DON'T YOU KNOW THAT I'M THE PRINCIPAL?! SHOW ME YOUR FACES SO I CAN END YOU AND— *gasps* m-m-m-m-m-m-m-Mr Shon! What a joyful and happy day isn't it? A thousand doors like this one are a small price to pay for you, so please don't worry about it, I-I see that you have a guest with you, should I prepare tea for you two, or maybe a black coffee.
An annoyed look appears on John's face.
John: shut up Thorn.
Thorn lowers his head after hearing that.
In the other hand, Lania's inner voice was losing it, in her thoughts, she starts pulling her hair From the horror of what she saw.
Lania: (WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!!! WHY'S THE PRINCIPAL ACTING LIKE THIS?! HOW STRONG IS THAT BASTARD EXACTLY?! HE DIDN'T JUST BREAK THE PRINCIPAL'S DOOR, BUT HE ALSO TOLD HIM TO SHUT UP).
John explained the situation to Thorn and told him about the plan.
Thorn: B-But how can I possibly Convince the Academy students and the teachers to fight for the Academy?
John remains calm as ever as he starts explaining what Thorn must do.
John: that's why I came to you, you're going to give a speech in the Academy Theater where every student and teacher is going to be.
Thorn: but I'll need a day or two to prepare the speech, and time isn't something we have right now.
John gave him a little smirk.
John: who said anything about giving you a day or two to prepare? You're giving the speech tonight.
Lania & Thorn: WHAT?!
Thorn: but there's no time we can barely start preparing it.
John: don't worry about the speech, just make sure everyone is in the theater and leave preparing the speech to me.
Thorn: but- but- but.
Before even letting Thorn continue his word, John turns and start leaving the room.
John: see you tonight Thorn, let's go Lania.
John and Lania leave the office and with it leaving Thorn to gather every student and teacher in the Academy.
While walking through the hallway, they start discussing their next move.
John: well, since we have some time before tonight's speech, how about we start looking for the spell?
Lania looked at him with a shocked face as she hears him.
Lania: huh?! Aren't you going to prepare the speech for the principal?
John looks so calm for someone in his situation.
John: don't worry about it, I still have time for that, right now, our priority is to find the spell as fast as possible.
She can't deny it, but he's right.
Lania: you…you're right.
John: since we're on the same page here, let's go to the library.
Lania: I already looked for it there, However, there are still some shelves I haven't searched yet.
John: good, then that shouldn't take us a long time to search.
[In the library]
After several hours of searching the library, unfortunately they found nothing.
John sat on the ground putting Elesa on his lap, and Lania sits beside him, the two of them are exhausted from searching the library.
John: *sigh* it seems like it's not here, well, I can't say I didn't expect that.
Lania: *sighhhh* that took a lot of time, even more than I expected.
Lania looks at John with Curiosity in her eyes, and asks him a very interesting question.
Lania: Mr shon, may I ask you a question?
John: what is it?
Lania: why are we looking for the spell? I mean, we're going to fight the snow Elves so what's the point of looking for it?
John: well, it's true that we're going to fight them, but also, we can't be predict our enemies moves, so I'll keep it with me as a backup plan, and besides, the princes of the snow Elves didn't seems like they would attack anyone blindly, the spell must be so important that they will take the risk of making themselves enemies to ASTREVAL, that only shows how desperate they are.
Lania: that's actually a good idea (he's the same age as me and yet he can think of all that, If I were as smart as him, could things have been different?).
Suddenly, the sun starts to disappear behind the horizon, and now John must prepare for his next task of today.
John: would you look at that, it's already sunset, well, I must go and start getting ready for tonight, make sure to stay with the high ranking students while the principal gives the speech.
Lania: uh, okay.
John leaves the library and heads back to his room.
[A few hours later]
Although the Academy Theater is huge, but this night it is full because every student and teacher is here.
Behind the Curtains, Lania and the others are waiting patiently, suddenly the door opens and Thorn enters the backstage area.
Lona: principal Thorn, we were waiting for you.
Thorn looks around as if he was looking for someone, but after a second he walks to the stage where the lectern is, and stopped there, he just stood there and the silence continues.
Thorn: (where the hell is he?! I can't find him anywhere, he just gave me a message telling me to wait for him right here, and now what?!).
Suddenly, a familiar voice starts whispering in his ear.
John: shhhhh, don't make any sudden movements and stay quiet.
Thorn immediately looks at his left side but he doesn't find anyone there, so he starts whispering back.
Thorn: M-Mr Shon?! But I-I can't see you, where are you?
The students starts whispering between each other of what is going on, the principal hasn't spoken yet and they starts asking if this was a joke.
John: where am I and how I can speak with you right now is none of your business, now don't make any sudden moves, keep your head straight, and make a serious face.
Thorn follows John's instructions, just as he said.
Thorn: now what?
John: now I'm going to speak in your ear, and you must say what I say word for word, understood?
Thorn: mhmm.
Thorn clears his throat, and breaks the long silence.
John & Thorn: Dear students and esteemed teachers of the Academy, I have gathered you here today because the Academy faces an imminent threat; it is on the verge of being invaded by the snow Elves.
Crowds: *gasps*.
The students reaction was pretty much expected, but the high ranking students didn't expect The principal to be this direct.
Lona: huh!? I thought he'd deliver it to them in a way that makes them feel safe, but going to the main point like this.
Lania: (this of course is that guy's idea, no one can pull a move like this except him).
John & Thorn: silence everyone, Due to the weather of the Kingdom at this time of year, the help is not going to be here in time, the snow Elves gave us a week, we're already in the end of the first day, which means we only have six days.
The students began to panic, and the teachers did as well.
John & Thorn: I know all of you are scared right now, I'm scared as well as you, but there is a way to save ourselves.
Crowds: huh? what does he mean?
Crowds: I don't know.
Crowds: I don't wanna die.
John & Thorn: Thanks for the high ranking students who made a plan to deal with this disaster, but for their plan to work we need all of you to fight.
Male student 1: what the heck is that supposed to mean?! Are you saying that we have to sacrifice ourselves to save this place?
Male student 2: I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT.
Crowds: YEAH ME TOO.
Crowds: YEAH.
As the Crowd is starting to become furious the next thing John and Thorn said made the silence return to the Theater.
John & Thorn: Therefore, by the authority granted to me by the Royal King, the following charges will be brought against any student who fails to participate in the battle—charges that will also extend to their families: treason against the Kingdom, desertion from the battlefield, and failure to contribute to the protection of the Kingdom's assets.
The students are in a shock of what they just heard, even the high ranking students are in complete shock.
Male student 3: yo-you can't do that.
Thorn's eyes look at the students as he continues.
John & Thorn: oh yes I can, and I'll do it if I must, now I'm giving you the freedom to choose, either you run from the fight and face a faith worse than death, or you fight and make sure your family's reputation is higher than before, the choice is yours.
