Chapter 316 - Chapter 316: Going Home to Sleep

Lorelei shook her head slightly. "No need."

"I should continue to enter the dream."

"Their evil deeds have caused irreparable wounds to the Cloudsea. I need to restore them in the dream."

The water realm beneath their feet was called the Nimbus Sanctum.

It could reflect and absorb the desires and evil thoughts of those who gazed upon it.

Although Lucian's Mandala Flower had brought a moment of clarity to this dreamlike space.

But the desires and evil thoughts absorbed by the water realm from the Fractsidus members and various believers were simply too vast.

Such a brief purification time could not completely eliminate them.

With her restored power, Lorelei slowly floated into the air. Her hands rose, and several golden staff notations shone brilliantly on this fantastical water realm.

"The song will guide you away from here. Farewell, visitors."

With that, Lorelei plunged back into the water realm.

Lucian sighed. "What a pity. I hadn't introduced her to the Shorekeeper yet."

Rover shook her head slightly. "Didn't she say the path would forever be open to you? There will be another chance next time."

Everyone followed the brilliant golden staff notations out of the Courtyard in the Clouds.

Only then did they discover that many Echoes had gathered around, drawn there, including the Vitreum Dancer that had gone missing in the city earlier.

They realized their situation, looked around left and right, and then quickly dispersed.

However, the Vitreum Dancer was not important at this point, as it too had been controlled.

Moreover, they had already obtained some new clues from Lorelei.

Zani couldn't help but sigh. "I never imagined we'd actually meet the legendary Lorelei. This trip was certainly worthwhile."

Seeing Phoebe's somewhat downcast expression, Lucian lightly patted the back of her hand. "Are you okay?"

Phoebe: "Mm..."

She lifted her small face to look at Lucian. "What did you mean earlier by a well-intentioned lie?"

Upon hearing this, Lucian shared his speculations.

Rover rubbed her chin. "Based on the Order's actions so far, I also lean toward them wanting to control Ragunna."

"Moreover, Lorelei just said that the Sentinel will respond to the people's prayers during the Carnevale, not the Enlightened One."

"This should indirectly prove that the claim of the Enlightened One is completely fabricated."

Zani nodded slightly in agreement. "In fact, my time in Ragunna isn't short either."

"I've seen the Order's various practices with my own eyes, and that's one of the reasons I won't go to the Order to pay homage to the Sentinel's statue."

"What if those extreme priests in the Order detect my lack of piety and send me off as a fool for pilgrimage? That would be disastrous."

"But the Montelli family should protect me."

Lucian reached out, removed Phoebe's white hat, and stroked her head:

"Rather than getting tangled in it, it's better to uncover the truth with your own hands."

"No matter what the truth is, seeing it with your own eyes is always better than random speculation here."

Phoebe nodded vigorously, her gaze firming up. "Mm!"

"I want to return to the Order once."

"Lorelei doesn't seem to be lying, but I grew up in the Order since I was very young."

"I also don't quite believe that the Pontifex would deceive the people of Ragunna."

"If it's truly as Lorelei said, and the Sentinel will descend the oracle during the Carnevale, then everything will come to light by then."

Rover asked, "Have all previous Pontifices claimed to be the Enlightened One?"

Phoebe's expression fell a bit more upon hearing this. "No, only His Excellency Fenrico has established such a direct connection with the Sentinel."

"The previous few Pontifices all referred to themselves as the Sentinel's spokespersons, not the Enlightened One..."

Lucian's face remained expressionless, his belief that Fenrico was not the true Enlightened One growing even stronger.

Clearly, Phoebe showing such an expression was also due to the accumulation of various clues, making her more suspicious of Fenrico.

Lucian rubbed Phoebe's tender, smooth little cheek. "Alright, since you've already made your decision, we won't interfere with your choice."

"If you discover anything, you can contact us anytime."

Phoebe forced a smile. "The matters during this time, I'll treat as a secret between us, buried deep in my heart."

"The temple once said: The one that leads us through the storm and safely back to port is not the guiding lighthouse, but our own eyes gazing toward the shore."

"I also want to gift this precept to you all. May your eyes forever remain clear and bright, shining brilliantly..."

Phoebe lifted her head and gave Lucian a slight smile, then stepped down the stairs and left.

Once Phoebe's figure disappeared from everyone's view, Rover asked, "What next?"

Lucian stretched lazily. "Of course, go home and sleep!"

Rover: "?"

Zani: "?"

Zani asked in confusion, "Go home and sleep?"

"Which home? Do you have a residence in Ragunna?"

Rover explained a bit. "We have a portable residence."

And just then, he received the application from Changli and the others to enter the Sonoro Sphere. Lucian silently clicked to approve.

Lucian laughed. "Perfect timing. We can ask our old friends for some advice and planning."

Rover pinched Lucian's ear. "Is it really just that simple, for advice and planning?"

Lucian said righteously, "Of course! I, Lucian, always put major matters first!"

Rover nodded slightly upon hearing this. "Alright then. If that's the case, let's temporarily invite them to come sit."

Lucian smiled sheepishly. "Well... actually, they've already entered."

Rover: "?"

Zani waved her hand to interrupt the two. "Wait, wait. What old friends?"

"I don't understand what you're talking about at all."

Rover then explained to Zani, who immediately showed a curious expression. "There's actually such a magical thing?"

If she had something like this, wouldn't she be able to stay at home anytime, anywhere?

Zani looked at Lucian with expectant eyes. "I also want to see your portable residence. Is that okay?"

Rover lightly coughed. "Zani, you're asking the wrong person. Entry requires my approval."

Rover immediately assumed the position of the lady of the house.

Zani said helplessly, "Alright, Miss Rover. May I enter your portable residence to take a look?"

Rover crossed her arms arrogantly. "No!"

Zani: "?"

Are you treating me like a Fisalia person to toy with?

Along the way, Zani had already become someone trustworthy in the two's hearts.

Lucian hurriedly laughed. "Alright, alright. Since Miss Zani wants to see it, there's naturally no problem."

"Even if you want to sleep with me, I wouldn't refuse!"

Rover: "?"

Zani shook her head slightly. "That's not necessary. I'm just purely curious and want to see what the portable residence is like."

Lucian nodded slightly. "Miss Zani, please extend your hand."

Zani: "...?"

Though puzzled, Zani still extended her hand. Perhaps this was the ritual for entering the portable residence?

Lucian took out the Sonoro Sphere crystal, held it in his hand, then reached for Zani's hand, placing the crystal between their palms.

Lucian took the opportunity to rub Zani's smooth little hand, saying softly:

"Alright, Miss Zani. Please silently recite in your heart: I wish to enter the Sonoro Sphere..."

Zani felt the touch on her palm, a strange sensation arising in her heart.

Is the method to enter the portable residence really like this?
