Xai Lin remained silent for a moment, before she opened her eyes and looked down at An Mo who was clinging to her.
Sensing Xai Lin's cold gaze, An Mo raised his head to meet her icy blue eyes with a pitiful expression.
After just a few seconds, Xai Lin was unable to handle An Mo gaze, and the coldness in eyes slowly milted away.
Actually, she wasn't really that angry. What An Mo did really wasn't a big deal, she was just a bit annoyed that he hadn't told her sooner that he had four Divine Beast bloodlines and not two. After all, it was rare for humans to come into contact with Divine Beasts, to the point where it was impossible.
Without dwelling on what it meant for one existence to possess four Divine Beast bloodlines, she just wanted to see his other Divine Beast forms, and what their innate abilities were. She had only read them in books before.
Also, they should be just as comfortable to touch.
Xai Lin looked down at the few strange of orange hair in her hand, and pang of regret appeared din her heart. She had been to rash, actually, damaging such exquisite material.
She hurriedly checked where the hair had been pulled from, and seeing that it had already recovered, Xai Lin sighed and patted that area on An Mo's head.
After watching all of Xai Lin's actions, An Mo released a sigh of relief internally.
As long Xai Lin didn't become angry and abandon him in a fit of rage, he was willing to use his body to appease her.
After patting An Mo's head for a few more seconds, Xai Lin sighed before saying.
"I'll forgive you, this time. But since you consider me your partner, don't keep such important matters from me in the future."
An Mo nodded obediently before he got up. While pulling Xai Lin up, he asked.
"Will you tell me about yourself too?"
Xai Lin paused when she heard that but soon nodded.
"Sure, it's not a secret that I can't tell you."
Upon hearing this, An Mo thought internally.
'Does that mean she had secrets she can't tell me?'
He thought back on their first meeting, and the abnormality in her soul. He figured it had something to do with that. However, for the first time, An Mo was not consumed by curiosity to find out what that abnormality was. As long as Xai Lin didn't abandon him, then she could find any number of secrets from him.
While brushing off the grass on her robes, Xai Lin asked.
"By the way, what's the fourth Divine Beast bloodline that you have?"
An Mo eyes lit up, and he returned to his previously boisterous self as he puffed out his chest proudly and opened his mouth to respond.
However, before he could speak, his golden pupils suddenly became constricted and without even having the time to cry out a warning or activate his ability Divine Black Tortoise ability, his hand moved to block Xai Lin's back.
With a "Pitua" sound, something pierced palm and went to stabbed into Xai Lin's back.
Ding!
The sound of metal colliding against metal rang out, which was followed by the sound metal scrapping against each other.
The object was blocked by a black rune that suddenly appeared on Xai Lin's skin, but it was only for a moment before it continued to pierce her back.
In the moment the attack was launched and ended, a figure appeared from out of nowhere behind Xai Lin while holding a sword.
That sword was stabbed halfway into An Mo's hand while the tip was embedded in Xai Lin's back, just enough to pass her skin, cut through her ribcage, and graze her heart by a hair's width.
An Mo's heart trembled; his golden eyes were wide open as he stared at that the youth who was holding the sword.
If he hadn't reacted in time…
If Xai Lin hadn't used that brief moment delay to barely activate her defensive treasure…
That sword would…
That sword would have…
An Mo couldn't think about it. He didn't want to think about would have happened.
Seeing that his attack had failed, Sikong felt a wave of frustration well up in heart. He knew it. He knew he would never obtain that treasure ever again.
He had been following these two for so long and had planned for so long, yet he had failed at the most crucial moment.
After realizing that strange beast could see through his disguise he had made sure to keep out of his line and sight, but after nearly being flattened to death by those towering trees knock over by that gurls Kun Peng form, he had made sure not to get within a five hundred meters of them at all times. However, it was because of this that he suffered the fate of wondering around this dangerous Demonic Realm. Especially that Wild Desert territory. His magic treasure could erase his prescience, but it could not separate him from the surrounding environment. So, for these past few days, not only had flown through the Great Forest while dodging flying Demonic Beast occasional, but he had also nearly been tormented to death by the Wild Desert's heat.
If only he had killed this girl, then her Spirit Imprint on his treasure would have dissipated, and he could have used that trace of his grandfather's Spear Intent he had left on it to retrieve it.
But now all of that was impossible now.
With great reluctance, Sikong didn't bother retrieving his Top-grade treasured sword and directly retreated.
Almost the moment he retreated, a blinding golden light erupted from An Mo pierced hand and swallowed the Top-grade sword.
After the golden light faded, the Top-grade sword was revealed and on its body were flashing golden runes.
Each time the golden runes flashed the Top-grade sword became duller. In only a few seconds, it looked no different from an ordinary sword.
Sikong watched this scene with a heavy heart. Thankfully, he had been cautious not to approach this beast. His abilities were just too bizarre.
An Mo ignored Sikong and carefully removed the sealed sword from Xai Lin's body and his hands.
"Xai Lin, are you okay?"
An Mo's face was full of worry as he stared at Xai Lin's whose face was starting to turn pale dure to blood loss.
"I'm fine, don't worry. It was my carelessness. I didn't think he would use a teleportation token to approach me."
Hearing this, An Mo's expression relaxed quite a bit.
"Yeah, I didn't know you humans have such treasures. It's not in my Legacy Memories."
Sikong, who was thinking about his escape route, had his entire body stiffen when he heard those words. He also felt a chill down his spine as he looked at the two people not far away. Not one of them was normal.
He had thought he was oriole waiting from behind, little did he think the mantis attack the cicada was a trap from the beginning.
