Shang Wanjun didn't speak, but she did close her eyes.
Xu Lin also held her hands, giving her Erhu lessons for the piece.
A dozen seconds later.
Xu Lin blew a breath near her ear, but Shang Wanjun didn't react at all. She seemed truly absorbed, wholly focused.
Most people can't achieve that kind of focus; they're like the vast majority of ordinary folks who, when doing something, likely have their minds wandering, their attention severely scattered.
And so, half an hour went by.
"Alright, I especially paused at places where you were lacking to point them out, now you try."
"Then I'll give it a try."
With that, Shang Wanjun began playing the Erhu on her own. She seemed to have a high level of understanding, and this time it was clearly much better than before, with no mistakes at all.
"How was it?"
At the end of the piece, she asked.
"No mistakes this time, I'll teach you hand-to-hand once more, and there shouldn't be any more problems."
"Okay."
