Zombies don't adhere to biology, but they still somewhat obey the laws of physics. Thus, the massive inertia caused it to freeze in an incredibly awkward position, body leaning forward, with one foot suspended in the air, almost causing it to fall over.
The violent rage in their cloudy eyes quickly faded, replaced by a bewildered stupor.
The few "sidekicks" that heard it too came to an abrupt halt as well.
