The host glanced around, leaned in close to Lawrence Winters and whispered, "We had already contacted Mr. York before, it was Mr. Zuko's request..."
"And what happened?" Lawrence Winters smirked, thinking there surely wasn't a good outcome.
Indeed, the host lowered his voice further and said, "...We only mentioned Mrs. Fang's entrustment, wanted to talk with Mr. York, but Mr. York politely declined, saying that he and Miss Tang... are nothing more than ordinary friends... It's his wife who is on high alert, jumping at shadows..."
Lawrence Winters was slightly stunned, "Did he watch our Celestial Path Sect live stream on social media?"
"...He didn't know before, but after we talked to him about his wife's entrustment, he should have known. Then, he should also know that Miss Tang harbors resentment towards him, demanding he 'deserves it.'" The host's expression was full of implication.
Lawrence Winters felt a complexity hard to express.
