Mason listened to their back-and-forth, his brow slightly furrowed as he looked at Bella Green, tenderly ruffling her fluffy little head.

She looked at Mason, but the man didn't give her a glance from start to finish.
Bella Green also ignored her, only mumbling a sleepy response and leaning back on the man's shoulder to sleep again.
To Joanne, this display was defiant, as if not giving her any importance.
Hitting a wall, Joanne felt reluctant but couldn't continue to disturb them and walked over to sit elsewhere.
Today, she acted impulsively, not expecting Bella Green to be by Mason's side.
