Chapter 217 - Chapter 216: Do not play with the dead

The revived woman sat in the center of the room, her body still adjusting to its temporary form. The Avengers stood around her in a loose circle, their faces showing a range of emotions from shock to deep concern.

"I am not capable of reviving people. This jutsu brings back the soul of the dead from the after lands back into a living persons body using the DNA of the dead person as a medium," Kakashi said in the simplest way he could explain.

The woman stared at Kakashi with wide eyes full of anger and disbelief. Her face twisted as she processed what had happened to her. "You what have you done... blasphemy... my king was right to order your elimination," the woman said but then quickly shut up after realizing what she had just done.

She clamped her mouth closed tightly, as if she could take back the words that had slipped out in her moment of shock. Her body trembled slightly from the force of the jutsu holding her there, but her mind fought against revealing any secrets.

"King?" Kakashi asked, his eyes narrowing with interest. ,

She tried to shut her mouth even tighter, but Kakashi made hand signs that made her stiffen. The woman sat up straighter against her will, her muscles locking into place under the power of the jutsu.

"Tell me who sent you to kill me and why," Kakashi commanded.

"King T'Chaka and his council had ordered your elimination," she said without any control over her actions. The words came out in a flat tone, pulled from her against her wishes.

Her eyes showed panic and betrayal as her own mouth betrayed the secrets of her people. She struggled internally, but the technique held firm, making resistance impossible.

"Why and who is that?" Kakashi pressed, keeping his questions direct and clear.

"King of Wakanda. Your battle at New York against aliens and your prowess were something they were afraid of. They thought by taking you out the Avengers would also scatter since you are the key holding them together," the woman explained.

The room grew even quieter as the Avengers absorbed this new information. It was a shocking revelation that an entire country had decided Kakashi needed to be eliminated out of fear.

"And where did you get so much vibranium?" Tony Stark asked.

"Wakanda acquired its massive reserves of vibranium because a gigantic, pure vibranium meteorite crash-landed on Earth millions of years ago," the woman answered.

"You have it for millions of years... but if I am not wrong Wakanda is considered one of the poorest least developed nations," Bruce Banner said, his scientific mind putting the pieces together.

Bruce had read reports and studied global data, and Wakanda always appeared as a struggling third-world country on every map and economic chart. This new truth challenged everything he thought he knew about the nation.

"We are much more advanced than what the rest of the world is at. Even you Tony Stark. The main capital and advanced regions of Wakanda are hidden under a giant holographic illusion that's why no one could see it," the woman said.

She seemed to have a grimace as she said the deepest secrets of Wakanda to the enemy. Her face twisted with discomfort and shame. Revealing the holographic technology that protected their true advanced society felt like the ultimate betrayal.

She described how the illusion kept outsiders away while the real Wakanda thrived with technology that surpassed anything the outside world had developed.

The Avengers exchanged looks of amazement. Tony whistled softly, clearly impressed despite the circumstances. "A whole hidden advanced civilization right under everyone's noses. That explains a lot about the vibranium weapons. I have got to give them credit for the secrecy game. But ordering hits on people because you are scared? That is not how we do things here."

Kakashi was about to ask more questions but suddenly ash and dust reappeared as the woman's soul returned to the pure land.

The body began to dissolve back into particles, the temporary form breaking apart faster than expected. The woman let out one final gasp before the jutsu ended completely, leaving only the original Hydra operative now dead on the floor.

'I know my jutsu is incomplete but I should have at least another few minutes. It was as if someone just took hold of her soul and dragged her back,' Kakashi thought.

"You can revive Charles, Erik?" Mystique asked. Her voice carried a mix of hope and pain as she thought about her fellow mutants who had fallen in past battles.

The idea of seeing Charles Xavier or Erik Lehnsherr again filled her with conflicting emotions.

"Like I said I cannot revive them. I can bring them back for a few minutes but I would need their DNA for that and I would not do that. They made their choices. Let them rest in peace," Kakashi said.

He understood the pain of loss better than most, having lost many important people in his own life. He explained again that the jutsu was only temporary and came with heavy costs. He believed the dead should stay at rest unless absolutely necessary for the greater good.

Mystique nodded slowly, accepting his words even though it clearly hurt. She turned away for a moment to compose herself.

Tony who was about to say something just turned his head.

"And if I were you, I would not use that jutsu again." A voice called as they saw a portal appear and the Ancient One appeared.

The sorcerer stepped through the glowing circle with graceful confidence, her robes flowing around her. The portal closed smoothly behind her, leaving no trace. She looked directly at Kakashi with wise but serious eyes.

"I once again underestimated your talent and prowess Kakashi. You are quite talented for what you just did. It was not a small feat," the Ancient One said.

She acknowledged the skill it took to perform such a technique in this world. Bringing back a soul even temporarily required immense control and power.

"But if I were you, I would not do it again. Trust me when I say this you do not want to play with Death and the dead," there was a hard edge in the Ancient One's tone.

Kakashi suddenly felt a chill not from the Ancient One or her words but as if something had gazed at him. Something so strong that he could not even comprehend it.

The feeling ran down his spine like an icy touch from the unknown. It was not fear exactly, but a deep instinctive warning that made his instincts scream for caution.

'I guess unlike my previous world, this world might just have consequences for using forbidden jutsu,' Kakashi thought.
