Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: The Blonde Idiot

Since Hirasawa Yui still hadn't bought her own guitar, Sato had no choice but to lend her his and began teaching her the basics of music theory.

What surprised not just him but the rest of the Light Music Club was how quickly Yui picked things up despite her being an air-head. Often, she'd grasp what Sato taught after just one or two tries.

"My God! Yui, are you secretly a genius?!"

Tainaka Ritsu cried out in shock, staring at Yui.

"Eh? Not really..."

Yui scratched her head sheepishly.

"Maybe you really will become a great guitarist someday," Sato said, more certain than the others. As her instructor, he had a clearer sense of her potential, Yui seemed to have a natural talent for instruments. A gleam of admiration flickered in his eyes.

"Oh!!! Does this mean we can ride Yui's talent to fame as a band?!"

Ritsu said dramatically from the side, clearly joking around.

"Ahem, isn't it a bit too soon for that? Yui just started learning. Who knows what'll happen in the future?"

Akiyama Mio sighed and rubbed her forehead, exasperated.

Still, seeing the scene before her, a small sense of relief bloomed in Mio's heart. This was what the Light Music Club should feel like.

After a while of teaching Yui, Sato suddenly stood up.

"I'm going to the Loo. Keep practicing in the meantime."

"Ah? Oh, okay!"

Since the clubroom was in the school's attic, there wasn't a restroom nearby, he had to go down a floor.

As he walked through the hallway, Sato curiously glanced into various clubrooms.

There were an absurd number of strange and eccentric clubs at this private school, each one more eye-catching than the last.

After leaving the restroom, he stopped abruptly in front of a clubroom he hadn't noticed before.

"Far Eastern Magical Nap Society?"

What the hell is that?

He stared at the doorplate, baffled, then remembered—

Isn't this Rikka's club?

Why was the name getting weirder and weirder...

After hesitating, he knocked on the door.

Knock knock!

He waited.

Silence.

No one?

Sato frowned slightly and leaned in to listen.

No voices, but not total silence either.

Clack!

He slid open the door, revealing the scene inside.

Whoosh!

Three pairs of eyes snapped toward him with different expressions.

"Sugoi! Master! The live sacrifice really worked, desu!"

A blonde twin-tailed girl he didn't recognize turned toward a stunned Rikka, full of excitement.

Sato: "…"

The clubroom of the so-called "Far Eastern Magical Nap Society of Summer" wasn't large, smaller than the Light Music Club by far. Standing at the doorway, Sato could see everything inside without moving his eyes.

On the floor, someone had arranged LED lights into a glowing six-pointed star.

In the middle of the star lay a short-haired girl he vaguely recognized...

Actually, no, she was sleeping there.

Kneeling outside the star were three girls:

The hyper active blonde in twin-tails, the ever-serious Takanashi Rikka, and the delighted-looking Nishimiya Shouko.

"...So, what exactly are you guys doing?"

Sato asked after taking a deep breath.

Shouko blushed and glanced awkwardly at Rikka.

Ahem!

Rikka cleared her throat, then sighed and said to Sato,

"I didn't expect that the one summoned would be you... the brave soul from another world, my Servant!"

A black line crept down Sato's forehead.

Before he could speak, the blonde twin-tail stepped back two steps in shock, eyes wide as she looked at Sato.

"Servant?!"

"Master! I thought I was your only Servant, desu?!"

She stared at Rikka, heartbroken.

"He is your senpai. Long ago, in a battle against the invisible boundary lines, he fell into the etheric sea and lost all his memories..."

Rikka looked at Sato with a mix of emotion.

Just as she finished speaking—

Chop!

A hand-knife came flying at her head.

Her eyes widened as she ducked and crouched in defense.

"Master!"

"Ugh!!!"

A cute little whimper escaped Rikka's mouth.

But after a moment passed and no blow landed, she opened her eyes in confusion.

Sato gave her a sharp glare, then pulled back his hand.

"This time, since there are others here, I'll let it slide."

Rikka let out a deep breath.

Phew! That was close!

Then, Sato turned his attention to the blonde twin-tail in front of him, who looked ready to pounce on him at any moment. He raised an eyebrow and asked,

"Who's this little one? And why is she here?"

Judging by her outfit, she looked like a middle schooler.

"Hmph! Since you've asked so sincerely, I suppose I'll kindly answer!"

The twin-tail girl laughed coldly, then jumped back dramatically and struck a pose.

Sato arched a brow. What is this, Team Rocket from Pokémon?

"I am agent of the eye of the wicked lord, Rikka Takanashi's number one servant, the one who wields the Mjolnir Hammer - Sanae Dekomori!!! Rejoice for I have a right!"

Whoosh! Whoosh!

She whipped her golden twin-tails, which had cloth bags tied to their ends.

The air whooshed as she swung them.

...She's an idiot, isn't she?

Sato silently watched the golden twin-tail's over-the-top performance.

Why did it seem like every blonde twin-tail he met had issues?

Like Eri, who loved drawing NSFW art...

And now this delusional, terminally ill Hammer girl.
