Screech!!!
The chimera roared a terrible scream as my comrades were injuring it heavily.
Even so, the monster's wounds were rapidly healing the moment my comrades finished creating them.
All of the wounds would swiftly close up on themselves and return the injured parts to its perfect state no matter how severe they were.
"What the hell?! My attacks don't seem to be doing any good!"
Shanny shouted after the gash she created on the chimera's tail closed by itself.
"No matter how hard we hit it, the wounds would heal up completely in the end!"
Jonah added as the hole he pierced on the chimera's leg got filled with new firm flesh.
Devisha shared her comrades' frustration as the chimera stopped all the bleeding from her assaults.
"None of our attacks are actually doing anything! I think the chimera's regeneration also nullifies our poisons!"
Darius immediately nocked an explosive to his bow and launched it at the chimera.
Swooosh!
Boom!
The explosion engulfed half of the chimera's torso.
Once the flame dissipated, no harm could be found on the monster except for the fragment of the arrow lodged on it.
[This monster is immune to magical attacks!]
"The explosion did not cause as much impact as I hoped. I suppose the explosion itself is still considered magic."
Darius stated as I reached for a mana potion in my dress.
I had casted plenty of spells so far. But that Fifth Circle spell quite took a toll on me that I had to replenish my mana.
I nodded to Darius after I emptied half of the potion's vial.
"Save your enchanted arrows. None of the elemental assaults would significantly damage the chimera."
"But how are we going to take this monster down? My regular arrows won't do much to it even if they could penetrate its flesh."
This was indeed problematic.
I expected we would be able to kill the chimera now that it was vulnerable to physical attacks. Or at least cripple it heavily.
But of course the Quintal Trial would not make things that easy for us.
This newly-obtained power to wound the chimera was not aimed for its subjugation.
The blessing's power was limited, but it was to serve a certain purpose. Just like how the first altar's blessing helped us endure the battle for much longer.
Shingg!
Lights flashed in the sky.
More order from Sigyn.
[Designating 'Focused Fire' region.]
[Nearby heroes will tend to focus their attacks on the designated point or area.]
Zing!
Suddenly the entire length of the chimera's tail glowed up with distinct yellow light.
It highlighted the lizard head which continuously shot out monster-spawning pools and giant-hatching eggs.
Sigyn wanted us to direct our attacks on that particular part of the chimera.
Master's orders had been useful so far. We better not start doubting them now.
"Everyone, focus your assaults on the lizard head! Keep attacking it and ignore everything else!"
I ordered my comrades.
They immediately followed my instructions.
Shanny leaped and crossed her blade through the lizard head's throat once more, dark liquid poured from the open wound.
Devisha followed her assault by slicing another gaping wound on the lizard.
Jonah threw his throwing spear and the projectile punctured through the lizard's skull.
Darius fired his arrows at the lizard's eyes, lodging the projectiles into the sockets. His assaults took the lizard's vision away and disoriented it.
As my comrades were assaulting that part of the chimera, I intercepted all the chimera's minions that were after them.
My Fifth Circle spell managed to eradicate most of lesser creatures. So I managed to keep all the minions away from my comrades.
Screech!
The chimera thrashed around in great agitation, especially the lizard head.
My comrades managed to constantly deal great amount of damage to the lizard head that not even the chimera's regeneration ability could completely heal it each time.
It was now clear why Sigyn ordered us to focus attacking on this part of the chimera.
Now that it was heavily injured, the lizard head could not spew out as much monster-spawning pools as it usually could.
It even had stopped launching the giant-spawning eggs. My comrades were able to destroy the eggs while they were still inside the lizard's throat.
Quite a strategy.
I wondered in which scouting attempt Sigyn realized to do this move against the chimera.
Screech!
The bull head and the lion head of the chimera had turned their focus on my comrades that were attacking the lizard head.
They rapidly unleashed torrents of fire and launching large golden thorns at my comrades.
I intercepted all of their assaults by creating barriers in their attack trajectories.
Whoosh! Clang!
Since we had prevented the lizard head from spawning giants and reduced the number of Dark Spawn significantly, there was not that much minions left for me to take care of.
The Night Terror still posed a threat to my comrades. But simple First Circle or Second Circle spells would be enough for them.
So I was able to aid my comrades by protecting them from the bull head and the lion head, allowing them to focus on their assigned target instead.
This new attacking formation allowed us to endure the battle against the chimera for a much longer time.
['Gharand (★★)' has been inflicted with bleeding. His stamina will be reduced for a period of time.]
['Maura (★★)' has been inflicted with bleeding. Her stamina will be reduced for a period of time.]
39 minutes had passed.
The rearguards were starting to feel some pressure from the enemies.
Djhotti and the rest of Party 4 were still hard at fighting around their battlement's altar.
Mountains of pirate corpses were building up at the bottom of the four stairways leading to the battlement. More enemies were still climbing from the labyrinth to reach the altar Party 4 was guarding.
Meanwhile, pirate ships were queuing to dock at the harbor where Party 3's altar was placed.
Ulrica and her comrades immediately struck down the pirates as soon as they got off their ships. Matrias kept sending out destructive lightning to some vessels to prevent them from docking.
The battles on those two fronts were definitely intense.
But from what I was seeing, Party 4 and 3 could handle them. Those enemies would not overwhelm Djhotti nor Ulrica.
However, should worse comes to worst, and each party would need plenty of healing supplies, they would not find themselves lacking.
All party leaders in Party 2 till 5 had been given enchanted ring made from the subquest crystal.
Their rings enabled the party leaders to summon supplies from the War Storage.
Advanced health potions, mana potions, Power Potions, antidote, and enchanted arrows.
They would not need to open a portal and wait for Master to deliver those supplies. The rings would be able to summon them immediately.
But if they needed more supplies such as other weapons, the party leaders could always activate the Portal Stone to create a portal and send a request to Master.
Party 4 did not actually need a Portal Stone to create a portal.
Vallerynne had managed to learn dimensional magic.
She was able to create a supply portal within one-minute casting time and maintain it for three minutes at most.
But it would be better if she just saved her mana and used the Portal Stone instead. The portal created from the rock emerged instantly and lasted way longer.
Screech!!!
Another terrible scream from the chimera diverted my attention back to the rise.
Something was going to happen to it again. Something terrible.
First it was the shooting thorns and the Night Terror. Second the increased Dark Spawn and the Deathbringer.
What would this wretched beast do now?
[The Cursed Abomination is evolving!]
