Katara's first instinct was to object. The impression those three opponents had left on her was far too deep.
Even though Kahn had already shown his terrifying Firebending skill, she still couldn't believe he could fight three people by himself.
Aang quickly followed, frowning.
"If we're going, we go together!"
"Exactly! It's four of us against three of them. I can't even imagine how we could lose!"
Toph clapped her hands joyfully, grinning wide—until Sokka chimed in beside her.
"Actually, there are five of us."
"Oh. Sorry, I didn't count you." Toph shrugged.
"You know… you can't bend. So…"
"I can still fight!"
"Alright, fine. Then it's four against three… plus Sokka."
Sokka nearly exploded from sheer frustration.
Ignoring their bickering, Kahn gestured for them to calm down. Then he turned to Aang.
"Do you remember what your fear of Firebending is?"
Aang hesitated, then nodded.
"I'm afraid of hurting the people around me again."
"Exactly. But after tonight…" Kahn snapped his fingers with a smile. "I think you'll be ready to start learning Firebending."
He smirked.
"Watch carefully. I don't like to boast, but I hope you understand something very clearly—"
"In the realm of Firebending, I am invincible."
Following the trail of sky bison fur, Azula had successfully tracked down the Avatar's location.
But this time, compared to Omashu, the Avatar's group had gained two new unfamiliar faces.
Not that it mattered.
After their last encounter, Azula already had a measure of their strength. Two extra strangers weren't going to change anything.
What she didn't expect… was for one of those strangers to leap down from a high platform the moment he saw them, positioning himself alone in their path.
Overconfident fool.
A cruel smile curved on Azula's lips—until the descending figure waved his hands, and a massive torrent of flames erupted in mid-air.
A cascading waterfall of fire thundered downward like a brilliant, raging inferno.
To onlookers, it was stunning—beautiful, even.
To the three standing beneath it, it was death.
Their expressions changed instantly. They didn't even have time to think about their mounts. They dove aside, just barely escaping the blazing torrent.
Their three large lizards, however, were swallowed whole by the fire. Miserable screeches echoed through the forest.
The three women grimaced.
But the shock didn't end there.
When the flames dissipated, the lizards remained… completely unharmed—staring blankly, wondering how they were still alive.
Thump. Thump.
Kahn landed lightly and walked toward Azula and her companions.
Hearing his footsteps, the lizards finally snapped out of their daze and scattered in terror, fleeing as fast as their legs could carry them.
Kahn stepped in front of the trio. He looked calm, but inside, countless thoughts flashed through his mind.
"He's a Firebender!"
"What kind of Firebending was that?!"
Once Ty Lee and Mai collected themselves, they immediately dropped into defensive stances.
That impossible technique was burned into their minds—a type of Firebending unlike anything they had ever seen.
It radiated lethal danger—yet hadn't harmed the creatures inside it.
Azula stared at him as well, the contempt gone from her eyes.
Then, suddenly, she smiled warmly.
"Alright, alright. Since you've all seen he's a Firebender, why are you so tense?"
She gestured casually.
"I didn't know such a young and powerful Firebender existed—one even the recruiters missed. Honestly, I should tell my father to fire them all."
Then she tilted her head innocently.
"But I'm curious… why attack us? Did you mistake us for someone else?"
"My name is Kahn."
Their reactions confirmed it—he truly did not exist in this world.
But Azula's fake friendliness only made him want to laugh. Her acting was excellent… for someone who didn't know her like he did.
Kahn finally smiled.
"As a Fire Nation citizen, I wouldn't mistake Princess Azula. But if you want to capture the Avatar—please turn back."
Azula sighed dramatically.
"If you consider yourself a Fire Nation citizen, why help the Avatar oppose your own nation?"
She stepped forward, voice soft but sharp.
"If the Fire Nation falls, what will you become? A traitor in the eyes of your people, and a suspicious outsider to the other nations? Hated by one side, distrusted by the other?"
She spread her arms.
"But if you help me capture the Avatar and unite the world under the Fire Nation, you will be honored—admired—rewarded. You will become a hero."
Her smile widened.
"Someone as exceptional as you should know which option makes more sense."
"Well said." Kahn even clapped.
"However—no. My favorite thing to do is say no to people who are full of themselves."
"Is that so?" Azula's smile died. "Then go die."
Blue lightning erupted instantly from her fingertips, tearing through the air—deadly, precise, blazing with power.
But Kahn was already ready.
He extended his left hand, absorbing the incoming lightning completely.
The crackling energy tore through his body, then surged out of his right hand—BOOM!—blasting a massive crater in the metal carriage behind them.
"Such powerful Lightningbending… incredible."
Kahn admired the destruction.
Azula, with an extra year of training compared to the original world, truly was terrifying. Her Lightningbending was already comparable to his own.
Azula's expression darkened, "Are you one of Iroh's people?"
Kahn winked, "Guess?"
