"Marriage, you say?"
Mey was taken aback by Nolan's words.
Nolan gave a slight nod.
"That's right. I want to marry Seira in four months."
Mey fell silent. She hadn't expected her son to suddenly make such a request.
A moment later, she took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
"I understand. But this matter must be discussed by both families. I hope you understand."
Nolan wasn't angry. From the start, he knew marriage was a serious matter, especially since he and Seira came from two large and influential families.
Their marriage involved interests, politics, and money. In fact, it could even affect the country's future.
"That's all I wanted to say, Mother. I beg you to convince Uncle Troya and Aunt Helen. I don't have much time."
Without waiting for her reply, Nolan stood up, picked up Alice, who was sitting beside him, and left, leaving Mey staring after him in a daze.
…
"Why did you call me? Did you miss me?"
Seira sat across from Nolan, gazing at him lovingly.
