Adam stared at her in disbelief.
Adam: "Wait… are you the girl who arrived with King Aaron through the summoning chamber?" 😶
Noel: "Yeah!" 😁
Adam's expression immediately changed.
Adam: "I think… you should leave now." 😐
Noel: "Huh? Why?" 😅
Adam: "I'm sure everyone in the palace is searching for you. Without knowing your secondary gender, you're in real danger here."
Noel: "Huh… OMG, are you serious?"
She paused for a moment before shrugging.
Noel: "Okay, then. I'll go. Thanks for inviting me over!"
Adam: "All right. Bye." 😐
Noel: "Bye!" 😁
She hurried out of the house.
Adam watched her leave and shook his head.
Adam: "What a strange woman…" 😐
Two Minutes Later
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
A loud knock echoed through the house.
Adam turned toward the door.
Adam: "…" 😐
He frowned.
Adam: "Did you really leave already…?" 😶
Before he could finish speaking, the door opened, and someone stepped inside.
Man: "Hey, darling." 🤤
Adam's expression immediately hardened.
Adam: "What the hell? What are you doing here?!" 😠
The man closed the door behind him and smiled.
Man: "What? Can't I visit my own mate?"
Adam: "I told you not to come here."
Man: "Oh, come on, darling. Don't be like that."
He slowly approached Adam, his eyes gleaming with unsettling interest.
Man: "Isn't this the perfect opportunity? We're all alone."
Adam stepped backward.
Adam: "Don't come any closer."
Man: "Why? You're my mate, after all."
Adam: "Even though you're my mate, I will never accept this kind of behaviour!"
The man's smile disappeared.
Man: "You still don't understand, do you?"
Adam: "Understand what?"
Without warning, the man lunged at him and shoved him to the ground.
THUD!
Adam gasped as his back struck the floor. He tried to get up, but before he could escape, the man struck him across the face.
SLAP!
Adam: "You bastard!" 😡
Man: "Who cares what you think?!"
The man glared down at him.
Man: "I want you, and that's all that matters!"
Adam struggled to push him away, but the man refused to let him go.
Adam: "I DON'T WANT THIS! Do you understand?!"
Man: "And I don't care!"
He leaned closer, ignoring Adam's desperate attempts to escape.
Adam's heart pounded as fear and anger surged through him.
Being mates doesn't give anyone the right to ignore another person's refusal.
Adam knew that.
A mate bond might connect two souls, but it didn't give one person ownership over the other.
He didn't want this man. He had already said no, yet the man continued to ignore him.
Adam gritted his teeth and struggled again.

For a moment, Adam wondered whether anyone would hear him. He was trapped inside his own house, with no one around to help him.

The man froze.
Adam immediately turned toward the entrance, a flicker of hope appearing in his eyes.
Someone's outside!
He didn't know who it was, but at that moment, he didn't care.
Whoever had come might be his only chance to escape.
The voice outside sounded again.
Unknown Voice: "Open the door! We know someone's inside!"
The man glanced toward the entrance, his expression darkening.
Adam seized the opportunity and tried to pull himself free.
Please… whoever you are, hurry up!
For the first time since the man had entered his house, Adam felt that he might not be completely helpless.
Someone was outside.
And that person might be the only one who could save him.
