Chapter 174 - Alpha's Deduction

After hearing Yuki's explanation, the girls finally understood what their so-called Possession was all about.

Such astonishing news was something they were hearing for the first time.

From it, they also learned some information: each of them carried the bloodline of a past Hero, whether direct or collateral. They could all be considered descendants of Heroes.

However, this heroic bloodline wasn't exactly a good thing. Cursed by the demon, it had brought this affliction upon them.

If they hadn't met Yuki, whether they could have continued living was still an unknown.

"I never imagined the 'Possession' that has troubled countless people actually hid such a secret behind it."

A look of surprise appeared on Mary's face, her tone somewhat wistful.

"It's truly hard to believe."

"If someone else had said this, I might not have believed it," Elisabeth said softly. "But since Master said it, it must be true."

"It's just surprising that the Three Heroes from the past were cursed while subduing the demon Diabolos!"

"And this curse even tainted their descendants' bloodlines."

"From your tone, Elisabeth-san, it seems you didn't know about what happened back then."

Akane noticed that Elisabeth, as an Ancestor who had lived so long, also didn't know the true circumstances of the Three Heroes' battle against the demon.

"Akane-chan, you jest. Even an Ancestor isn't omniscient."

Elisabeth gave a light smile, shook her head, and spoke with a hint of self-mockery.

"After all, if I were omniscient, I wouldn't have been backstabbed by my own subordinate!"

"Ah, that's true too!"

"Sorry, Elisabeth-san."

Akane apologized gently to Elisabeth.

Elisabeth didn't mind, shaking her head.

Let the past be the past. Now, Elisabeth just wanted to live well in the present, no longer bound by the desire to drink blood, able to coexist freely with humans.

As for other vampires, since Yuki had explained last night that the rules he altered applied worldwide, in other words, all vampires in this world no longer needed to drink blood.

So Elisabeth no longer needed to worry about other vampires' survival.

She, as an Ancestor, didn't need to return to lead those vampires.

Let them integrate into human society on their own.

Elisabeth felt immensely grateful to Yuki for this. He could have helped only her and not the other vampires, yet he did so effortlessly.

This moved Elisabeth deeply. She resolved to serve Yuki faithfully and repay his kindness.

As for how to repay him... as a Vampire Ancestor who had lived so long, she naturally had her own ideas.

The explanation about the Possessed thus came to an end.

Then Yuki had everyone enter the house to familiarize themselves with the environment and choose their rooms.

The building Yuki had created could no longer be called just a house; it was a large estate.

It could easily accommodate dozens of people.

There was even a specially designated training area, with very comprehensive facilities.

The girls felt a sense of immense novelty seeing the house's unique interior design.

Elisabeth and the others, entering with everyone, also looked around the interior decor with curiosity.

Akane, however, was different. The interior design felt very familiar to her, as if she had returned home.

"It's actually in a modern style?!"

Akane muttered softly, then noticed the lighting and wondered where the electricity came from.

But considering the house was Yuki's creation, she didn't dwell on the power supply issue.

After all, with Yuki, anything was possible.

"Alright, everyone go choose your rooms."

At Yuki's word, Elisabeth and the others led the adorable little girls to select their rooms.

After everyone had left, Yuki turned around and noticed Alpha still hadn't moved.

"What's wrong, Alpha?"

"Aren't you going to choose a room?"

Yuki asked Alpha curiously, seeing her motionless.

"Lord Yuki, rooms and such are trivial matters."

"Right now, I just want to ask you some questions."

At this point, Alpha paused, hesitated for ten seconds, then continued.

"These are matters I'm quite concerned about, such as the Demon Diabolos and the Cult."

"I hope Lord Yuki can give me these answers."

Alpha looked at Yuki seriously as she spoke.

Seeing this, Yuki nodded gently.

Since Alpha wanted to know some things, he didn't mind explaining.

Then Yuki explained to Alpha about the demon and the Cult.

Actually, the connection between the Cult and the Demon Diabolos was quite deep.

Because the Cult, from the very beginning, was dedicated to researching endless life and power...

They developed many technologies and successfully summoned a powerful lifeform from another parallel world.

Through research on that powerful lifeform, they discovered its blood contained not only immense power but also endless vitality.

This made the Cult researchers immediately realize: wasn't the blood of this monster exactly what they were pursuing?!

So they bestowed a title upon this monster—Demon King Diabolos.

Then, by researching the monster's blood, they extracted the Diabolos factor and later applied it to the earliest human experiments. Thus, the first person implanted with the Diabolos factor became the Demon Diabolos.

What followed was as recorded in history: the initial experimental subject, the Demon Diabolos, went berserk, and the Three Heroes came to stop it.

They finally defeated the Demon Diabolos with great difficulty, but their descendants were also cursed.

After hearing some of Yuki's explanations, Alpha gained a new understanding of the Cult and the Demon Diabolos.

"So that's how it is. In other words, the Cult has always been the hidden hand behind the scenes in this world!"

Alpha stroked her chin, appearing enlightened.

"I understand! Lord Yuki's goal is to oppose the Cult, right?"

"That's why you saved us—to organize forces to counter the Cult! To eradicate this cancer from the world!"

Alpha's face immediately showed adoration, her mind conjuring countless scenarios.

Hearing this, Yuki slowly formed a question mark in his mind.

When did he ever express that meaning? Her imagination was way too strong.

"No, the Cult is secondary. My goal is to unify the entire world."

Yuki shook his head, then stated his objective to correct Alpha's misunderstanding.

However, facing a girl with such a powerful imagination, further explanations were likely futile.

"I understand! Lord Yuki believes this world is as loose as scattered sand, so by unifying the nations, you can gather this sand together, thereby preventing future cancers like the Diabolos Cult from arising again?! What a far-sighted strategy!"

"Not only treating the symptoms but also the root cause, fundamentally preventing future troubles!"

At this moment, Alpha looked at Yuki with fanaticism in her eyes.

This left Yuki quite awkward.

To be honest, although Alpha imagined a lot, much of it had some logic. Yuki wasn't sure how to explain further.

So Yuki simply went with the flow, letting her continue with this interpretation.
