Only two girls survived from that family of six.
The younger girl, who survived because of her mother's protection, was severely injured, the kind that could be fatal at any moment.
Fortunately, she met Drake. After a bottle of panacea was poured down, the wounds on her body began to heal rapidly.
But the older girl was different. Her situation was much more troublesome.
She was also severely injured, but her biggest problem now wasn't her injuries.
An abnormal power inside her body was constantly eroding her body, constantly transforming her into a creature other than a human.
Under the effect of that power, the wounds on her body even began to heal, so that she wouldn't die as a result.
But if the transformation was completed, the girl would completely transform from a human into a man-eating demon.
Drake had long recognized the identity of the girl and her family, and incidentally knew which world he had come to.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, commonly known as Blade of Demon Destruction, a world revolving around demons and demon slayers.
The so-called demons are man-eating monsters that fear sunlight and can only live in darkness.
In exchange for this shortcoming, demons have unlimited lifespans and the powerful vitality to heal any wound. High-level demons can also possess special abilities called Blood Demon Arts.
And there is only one source of all demons, and that is the demon king Muzan Kibutsuji.
Muzan Kibutsuji was born in the Heian period. He almost died several times in his mother's womb, and was even born as a stillborn. He was lucky to survive.
In his growth, he was constantly plagued by illness, and was judged to be likely to die at any time.
Fortunately, a doctor didn't give up and promised to cure him.
But after taking the doctor's medicine, Muzan didn't get healthy, so the angry Muzan killed the doctor who had been taking care of him.
Ironically, after the doctor died, Muzan found that his body had really regained its vitality, and time had lost its effect on him.
He wouldn't age and would become stronger and stronger as time passed. Later, he could even fight an army alone.
But the price was his hunger for human flesh... and his fear of sunlight. And the latter was also a defect that Muzan couldn't tolerate.
And after finding the doctor's prescription, he learned that the medicine he took was missing the last ingredient, which was the Blue Spider Lily.
Unfortunately, the only doctor who knew the information about the Blue Spider Lily had been killed by him personally.
In order to find the Blue Spider Lily and become a truly perfect creature, Muzan shared his blood with others, creating a large number of man-eating demons.
And those who fought against these demons and protected ordinary people were the demon slayers of the Demon Slayer Corps.
Breathing techniques allowed them to confront demons with powerful physiques head-on, and blades forged from special ore allowed them to completely kill demons by severing their necks.
The plot of this world revolves around the battle between the two sides.
The malicious aura that Drake had sensed before belonged to the demon king Muzan Kibutsuji.
And the one he attacked was the family of this world's protagonist – the Kamado family of charcoal sellers.
Muzan probably wouldn't know that his spur-of-the-moment attack on this family had seriously affected his fate.
This attack created two consequences. One was the creation of the first demon to overcome the weakness of sunlight, which was Nezuko Kamado, the eldest daughter of the Kamado family in front of Drake.
That was another existence that could allow him to overcome his only weakness, besides the Blue Spider Lily that only appeared in the doctor's records.
In order to devour Nezuko and complete his final evolution, the final battle in the original plot broke out.
And the other consequence was that it led the protagonist Tanjiro Kamado to embark on the path of a demon slayer, and in the end became the sharp blade that would slay him.
The reason why Muzan attacked the Kamado family was unknown, but the Kamado family was undoubtedly special.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the swordsman who created the breathing technique and was one step away from killing Muzan Kibutsuji a hundred years ago, had passed on his swordsmanship to the ancestors of the Kamado family.
For hundreds of years, the Kamado family had been passing down this set of swordsmanship and Yoriichi Tsugikuni's hanafuda earrings in the form of Kagura dances.
And the house where the Kamado family lived was Yoriichi Tsugikuni's former residence, and also the location of the grave of Yoriichi Tsugikuni's wife who was killed by a demon.
And the Blue Spider Lily that Muzan Kibutsuji had been searching for had once bloomed on that grave, and then been picked by Tanjiro Kamado's mother, Kie Kamado.
Judging from the character of children who put everything in their mouths, the reason why Nezuko was so special, and why Tanjiro could overcome sunlight after being possessed by Muzan, was likely because the two had eaten the Blue Spider Lily.
There was even a joke that there might be Blue Spider Lilies in the Kamado family's pickle jar, but Muzan missed it.
Drake could feel that the energy eroding Nezuko Kamado was indeed mixing with something in her body and producing changes.
Drake couldn't stop this change, because it wasn't a disease or damage, but the lifeform's instinctive evolution to a higher level.
So Drake could only wait and see what happened to Nezuko. After settling Nezuko and the surviving Hanako Kamado, Drake began to think about how to act in this world.
What was worth Drake's attention in this world was of course in the demons and the Demon Slayer Corps.
This should have been a world without transcendence, but changes occurred due to the appearance of Muzan Kibutsuji.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni may have been right when he said that he came to this world because of Muzan Kibutsuji.
His talent and mission was to slay Muzan, and therefore the magical breathing technique was born.
As for the demon power from Muzan Kibutsuji, even putting aside his position and personal views, Drake wouldn't consider it at all.
The world level was there, and the demon power had nothing worth Drake studying.
To put it bluntly, even if Muzan Kibutsuji could inject his blood into Drake's body, Drake's own magic power would spontaneously purify it until nothing was left.
Low-level goods' blood couldn't pollute Drake's body.
Then what was worth considering was the Demon Slayer Corps' breathing technique. Drake was quite interested in that ability to cause supernatural phenomena through swordsmanship.
Even from Drake's point of view, the upper limit of the breathing technique was very high.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the creator of the breathing technique, the man who was said to walk the earth as a god, proved this.
In the battle with Muzan Kibutsuji, he unleashed more than 1,500 slashes in an instant. That was such an exaggerated thing.
With Drake's current level, he estimated that he could only do about 700 slashes at full strength.
Muzan Kibutsuji had said that Yoriichi Tsugikuni's existence was the greatest mockery of the common sense of this world. In short, even the demons thought he was exaggerated and inhuman.
Perhaps the power of Drake's one slash was enough to compare with 1,500 slashes, but the two were completely different things and couldn't be compared.
Although it was Yoriichi Tsugikuni who was strong, and no one after him could reach that height,
But Yoriichi Tsugikuni also said, "Those who exhaust the path will return to the same place." Drake was also very interested in what he said about all strong people eventually reaching the same place, the so-called supreme realm.
It was precisely because there were things that transcended the limits of the world that Drake felt that this trip wouldn't be in vain.
