After overtaking Verstappen, Leclerc quickly widened the time gap between himself and Verstappen, which soon reached 1.5 seconds.
This shows that Ferrari's speed in this race is obviously faster than Red Bull's.
Since he was already overtaken, Verstappen decided to pit on lap 13 and switched to a set of hard tires.
On one hand, Verstappen had been defending against Leclerc for so long that the tires couldn't hold out any longer, and on the other hand, he wanted to prevent Qin Miao, who was behind him, from undercutting him.
However, sometimes things don't go as planned. Despite Qin Miao having to pit once more due to team orders earlier and having drivers blocking ahead of him,
Qin Miao's speed on the medium tires was very fast on this track, and Verstappen's battle with Leclerc took quite some time from him.
So when Verstappen came out, he directly ended up behind Qin Miao.
And he hadn't even had a chance to attack Qin Miao yet.
