Zoe's POV
"What?"
My voice barely came out.
"What are you saying, Seth?"
He sniffed quietly and brushed the back of his hand beneath his eyes before taking another hesitant step toward me.
"I'm saying..." His voice trembled. "I've always known. I already knew before anyone else."
I frowned. My tongue stuttered.
"Knew... what?"
"Your secret. That you were Zoe."
My heart stopped.
He swallowed hard and continued.
"Remember Jason's pool party?"
My brows knitted together.
"The night your drink was spiked?"
I stared at him.
Unable to speak.
He nodded slowly.
"That night... you were barely conscious."
A faint, bittersweet smile crossed his lips.
"You talked."
Cold spread through every inch of my body.
"You..."
I shook my head.
"No..."
"You told me everything."
The notebook in my hand slipped from my fingers and landed on the wooden floor with a dull thud.
I didn't even look at it.
My lips parted, but no words came.
"I..."
My hands began trembling.
