My voice cracked under the weight of everything I couldn't say.

"Brandon… I've never really thought about that."

The words came out weaker than I intended—thin, fragile, like they might shatter if he pressed any further. And I knew he would. So before he could speak, before he could dig deeper into a place I wasn't ready to open—

"Um… we should go inside."

He blinked, clearly thrown off. "Wait… what?"

I forced a small shrug, avoiding his eyes. "We've been out here for a long time."

"So?" he asked, completely unfazed, like time didn't matter as long as we were together. I felt the same way, but I couldn't risk dragging us into an awkward situation.

"Let's just enjoy the rest of the night. No one's going to disturb us." he dragged.

My heart tightened.

That was the problem.

No distractions. No interruptions.

Just us… and the truth waiting to surface. That was painfully scary.

"I'm sure no one even cares that we're out here," he added lightly.
