Thorne closed his eyes, a shaky breath leaving him.
"How could I ever forget you? How could I ever—" she sobbed hard, her shoulders shaking.
Thorne drew her back, cupping her face tight. "You remember," he whispered, and she nodded.
"I can't—" the emotions were too much to bear. "I can't believe I—" the words trailed off as her eyes reached his abdomen, where blood had begun to seep out of the bandage.
Her eyes widened drastically. She looked at him with so much concern and panic. "Who did this to—" words failed her yet again, the memories rushing back like they never left.
Adina gasped, falling to the floor. She looked at him, shocked. "I—I did that to you."
Adina stared at the blood on her hands. "No…" She scrambled backward, pressing both hands over her mouth. "No, no, no…"
Thorne immediately crouched despite the pain tearing through his abdomen.
"Adina."
She shook her head violently, tears pouring down her face. "I did this." Her voice cracked. "I did this to you."
