"Yes, I'm here, Mr. Leofric, may I ask what's the matter?" Bertrand quickly put down the empty bowl and stood up, simultaneously giving Remon a warning glance, then rose to greet, "I'm here."
The newcomer was none other than Leofric-Karal, a Kingdom Knight from Winford and the champion of the previous knights' tournament. He looked disdainfully at the large iron pot cooking whole wheat bread, pork, and vegetables amidst a group of soldiers. However, recalling that Bertrand was appreciated by Duke Francois, he tried to soften his expression and said, "We plan to hold a meeting. Lord Laine is asking for you. Come with me."
"Yes!" Bertrand immediately responded and followed behind Leofric, leaving the camp.
Watching Bertrand leave like this, envy adorned the soldiers' faces. Despite Bertrand appearing subservient in front of Leofric, being able to speak relatively equally was an unimaginable honor for all peasants!
