Barn's voice was filled with awe and doubt, "What do you think is hidden inside this 'Light Torch'? Such a grand scheme, it can't just be for lighting an eternal campfire, right?"
Toby also cast his gaze upon the awe-inspiring torch, especially at the striking black-and-white figure atop it.
"Who knows?"
He scratched his head, lowered his voice with reverence, "Maybe some kind of... signal tower? To signal to those outside that we're here? Or... a massive energy source? Providing power to the whole city, perhaps even to those two up there?" He nodded towards the top of the torch.
Lila finally stopped her work, looked up, and gazed at the creature coiled upon the torch's broadest crown.
Her eyes sparkled with pure admiration: "Whatever its specific purpose... it's a symbol, isn't it? Like the one coiled atop... oh my god."
