Koa Jackson was momentarily startled but then grasped her hand tightly in return.
The grip was so firm that Mia only felt her fingers might be squeezed painfully.
Fortunately, Koa Jackson soon loosened his hold.
His thumb gently caressed the back of her hand, very tenderly.
The small gestures between the two of them naturally did not escape the old man's eyes. He felt quite pleased, exchanged some pleasantries with the nearby heads of the Ward Family and the Cooper Family, and then the waiter at the mountain estate started serving the dishes.
Everyone was already there, and after the old man spoke, the group began eating boisterously, chatting as they ate.
Aurora Cooper, however, didn't have much of an appetite.
