As soon as the plane landed, Scarlett Yates turned on her phone, and several text message tones rang out.
The beeping continued for half a minute before Matthew Saxon turned his head to glance at her. His gaze lingered on her face for a few seconds, then fell on her still-flashing phone.

He saw her pick up the phone, tap the screen a few times, probably opening those texts. She lowered her head, looking at them intently. After a while, her brows furrowed, and her expression turned somewhat subtle.
After she went through the texts and put her phone back in her bag, Matthew Saxon resisted as much as he could but still couldn't hold back and asked, "Did Maxwell Saxon contact you?"
