Chapter 251 - Devouring the Bone Ring

He did vaguely remember a serpent-type monster, but it was too niche, and he had long forgotten it. He was a fan, sure, but not that deep into it. And besides, there was no real need to care.

"Honestly, there is no need to worry about whether you are one of Godzilla Series Monsters." "Because no matter what you look like, it will not stop me from killing you."

Magnetic Field Rotation combined with Dark Power within the Space Domain surged together. This time, it was a serious basic attack. Another Space Blast Punch landed.

The explosion spread into a massive fireball that swallowed nearly a quarter of the bone ring, scorching it into charcoal. The shockwave blasted away layers of filth and resentful spirits above, leaving nothing stable behind. The black serpent was completely erased, and Belial reached into the fading blast to pull out a dim, crimson mass of condensed soul.

With the suppression gone from the remaining regions of the ring-shaped bones, the three remaining ecological Clone accelerated their corrosion. The snake skeleton that coiled head to tail finally collapsed entirely. Belial glanced at the soul mass in his claw with mild disappointment.

"So in the end, the quality of this red thing is worse than Anguirus." "With this little ability, you still dared to stir up trouble and attack me in the name of the Lord. You really do not know your limits."

This was the second sponsor Belial had crushed since leaving Anguirus. The previous one looked too strange to even mention. The process itself was simple enough: move in, apply Ecological Corrosion, chase it down, beat it to death, done.

It was a pity that he still had not found any trace of the teammate who came down with him, but that was not a real problem. There were plenty more out there. Belial began expanding his ecology out of habit, covering the entire ring of snake bones in Crystal and slowly devouring it, this time at a much faster pace.

One reason was that he had simply become more skilled at doing this. Another was that this territory was unimpressive, only a bit larger than the moon of Earth in total size, with limited energy to begin with. Consuming it did not take much time.

Belial extracted the usable energy, resentment, and other valuable components for himself. As for the hard-to-use material left behind, he still had no good solution. After digestion, he quickly shaped the remaining Crystal into a kind of marker, leaving it behind as a beacon before moving on.

"Well then, even your soul memories are a mess. What exactly are you people doing?"

As he consumed it, Belial frowned at the soul in his grasp. Even if this one was not stronger than Anguirus, its memories were even more chaotic. Including Anguirus, every one of the three he had killed had memories in this same tangled state, which made no sense to him.

With memories mixed into such a jumble, where could rational thought even come from? Being able to maintain self-awareness without getting lost was already a miracle, let alone having the ability to cause trouble. Still puzzled, Belial casually opened the friend list of his strange personal space, though he already knew the result.

In this place, contact was impossible. Before, it had been like having no service, but here there was not even a signal. Even the backup methods he had prepared were not working yet. Finding his teammate directly was still the most reliable option.

Planet devouring could continue even if Belial fell asleep now, assuming the Lord truly was this weak. His body collapsed and compressed into a far more massive and imposing form than before, then he hugged the entire ring of Crystal-transformed snake bones and bit into it like a donut.

"The taste is not very good." "The only thing worth praising is the texture. It is crispy, like something fried."

After a brief comment, the huge shadow tossed the last remaining piece into its mouth and compressed everything into a tiny, almost invisible point. After consuming all three monsters including Anguirus, his height reached close to two hundred and fifty meters. He was approaching planetary scale, though this was a compressed form, so raw size alone did not define his strength.

"My power has roughly doubled." "It is fine, I guess. Still, killing and looting really is the fastest way to grow."

He said it calmly, even though it was only a single increase. Compared to a Heisei Era version that could sleep for a year and grow stronger anyway, with extra boosts from a few movies on the side, this was nothing special. But that did not matter, he could grind monsters instead, and there were plenty of them.

Belial glanced outward, sensing familiar auras. There were at least dozens more. No rush. After finishing, he continued flying deeper into the Abyss, feeling something was off. He had clearly been following his teammate's aura this way, yet there were no signs, no traces, and even the memories of the old acquaintances he had beaten along the way showed nothing useful.

It made no sense. As he flew on, a region ahead suddenly sank into a distinct darkness. This was not darkness in an optical sense, but a concentration of dark power that he could clearly identify.

Back in Starter Village, light and dark forces were generally balanced, differing mostly in concentration. Here, however, almost everything was dark power. That alone would have been fine, but the darkness ahead was so dense it formed a massive vortex, with something at its center exerting a terrifying pull, like a black hole that devoured everything.

Something was clearly wrong. Still, avoiding traps was not very Godzilla-like behavior. "Probably just someone else again, and my teammate's aura feels very close. I will take a look."

Like a meteor, he plunged straight into the black hole. Upon entering, the first thing he felt was the overwhelming density of resentful souls, like countless currents crashing over him. Even Belial could feel their sheer weight.

If other places were like moisture scattered thinly in the air, this place was a roaring vortex you could eat by opening your mouth. And he actually did take a couple of bites.

"With this kind of concentration, whatever is here is not simple." "I might need to be careful."

Belial narrowed his eyes. Because they did not exist on the same path, the the Lord of this realm easily noticed the unknown visitor. Visitor or enemy, it made no difference, it would erase them all.

Deep within the vortex that nearly surpassed the concept of darkness itself, an existence endured half of its pain in silence. A massive eye slowly opened, and in that instant it was as if Rend tore open a blood-colored abyss across the sky.

Black filled everything, so deep it reflected a smooth, rounded sheen. It was not true light, only a contrast born from an almost absolute darkness. It looked like a full moon, pitch-black like the reverse side of the sun, which was exactly what it was.

All light existed on the other half of its wings. What remained here was only cold, dead darkness. And yet, within that darkness, there was a trace of light that should not have been there, a light that did not belong to it.

Disappear. Two remaining wings moved gently, and a flash of purple light cut through the void.

"Hm?"

Belial instinctively tilted his head. The Crystal shell he used for flight was instantly stripped away by some unknown force, nearly erased in half, or rather shattered by an attack that was simply too fast and too strong.

Strange phenomena followed as the resentful souls around him erupted like water in a rolling boil. Multiple violent dark currents formed within the vortex. The already raging sea turned into an unprecedented storm, layers of impact crashing in endlessly, overlapping again and again within the distorted space-time, rushing toward him with terrifying force.

A single layer was nothing, barely noticeable. Countless layers stacked together became a storm that could destroy anything. Photon Reflection Shield instantly wrapped around Belial, but from the center of the vortex, a purple beam of light erupted, massive enough to pierce planets, blasting Belial countless distances away.

A low sound escaped as claws twitched and wings beat. The enormous blood-red eye opened fully. The sky had gone dark.

A very strong opponent. That was Belial's first reaction, and then his entire body was dragged by a violent vortex and blasted straight out of this Dark Vortex. It was not just raw impact, because the dark power inside it reached a level he had never felt before and corroded the scales across his body.

Before, that kind of erosion would at most scrape off some dead skin from his surface. Now it was closer to concentrated sulfuric acid, making his whole body smoke, and the scarier part was that this might have been only a casual strike. This was an enemy almost without precedent.

"Interesting. Then let's try this one?"
