Halle was carefully thinking about how to tell Horton.
As she spoke, she could not help but look at Horton's face.
Horton was calm. He wasn't happy or surprised as she expected. He wasn't even in the slightest way delighted.
Seeing that Horton's poker face, Halle froze.
Were her words not clear enough?
"Emily calls you daddy, and you are her father."
Halle pursed her lips and reminded him again. Horton finally raised his head. He seemed to have mixed feelings. Halle could not understand it.
Horton looked at Halle and smiled.
His voice was gentle. He said, "Well, believe me. I will love her as if she was my daughter."
Halle frowned.
She wondered, "Did he really understand what I said? Emily is his daughter."
"Emily calls you daddy. She is your daughter."
Halle could not help but say it again, but it seemed that Horton misunderstood her.
Seeing that Horton was still so indifferent, Halle was a little anxious.
"I said, Emily is your daughter. You are her father."
