In the hospital.
Hilla hurried over after receiving the news. She heaved a sigh of relief when she saw Halle safe and sound.
In the resting chair of the hospital, Halle held Emily tightly in her arms and sat with an ugly expression.
She lowered her head slightly. Her red lips were tightly pursed, and her face was pale. When Emily looked up at her, Halle managed to force a smile.
The little fellow had no idea of what she had experienced in a day. She happily ate the snacks and occasionally put the things she thought delicious to Halle's mouth.
With a face full of sincerity, she laughed, "Mom, eat, it's sweet!"
Halle smiled and took the snacks from Emily's hands. "Thank you, Emily. Mom is not hungry. Help yourself."
"Then I can grow taller."
Emily shook her two empty little feet happily.
Along the way, she was carried by Halle and stayed in Halle's arms. The little fellow looked at ease.
"Halle!"
