Chapter 402 - Chapter 402: Who Else But Me

Wolf-shaped creatures are moving at high speed through the various alleys of Star Chariot Sea.

Borisin howl at the sky, while Cloud Knights resist desperately.

Yukong holds her bow and arrow, facing the encroaching borisin step by step.

At that moment.

A star skiff flies in from behind her, instantly knocking down the borisin in front and temporarily relieving the pressure.

Feixiao descends from the sky, summoning her glaive, heroic and valiant!

"You're here, Feixiao!"

Feixiao turns with a smile. "Sister Yukong, after thirty years, we're fighting side by side again. It's been a while since I stretched my muscles—let's get started!"

Yukong scolds with a laugh, "We're on the Xianzhou Luofu right now—keep your fists and feet in check!"

Feixiao nods. Around her body, a storm gradually forms with her as the eye of the wind.

Her figure moves at extreme speed, charging toward the area with the most borisin.

Anything that comes within a certain range of Feixiao is swept up by the raging gale.

Soon.

The Luofu Cloud Knights watch as Feixiao alone lifts every borisin in her field of vision into the air.

Everyone's eyes widen in stunned silence.

[????]

[She's seriously so cool!]

[Great victory! Great victory! Still a motherfucking great victory!]

[Tornado destroys parking lot!]

[There's a technique like this?]

[What's so surprising? Feixiao is at least an Emanator. Look how badass Jing Yuan is—Feixiao's even more of a martial fanatic.]

[Yeah, that actually makes sense. Hahaha.]

[Look at the Luofu Cloud Knights—they're not cutting it. If it were Yaoqing Cloud Knights, they'd know to just shout great victory.]

[Hahahaha, the barrage is more entertaining than the plot.]

[I have reason to suspect you're being sarcastic.]

— —

With a swing of her blade, in the blink of an eye Feixiao leaves the ground littered with borisin corpses.

She dusts off her sleeves and slowly returns to Yukong's side. "Star Chariot Sea battlefield cleaned up."

"But Exalting Sanctum and Aurum Alley still seem to be in bitter fighting. I'll prepare a star skiff right away!"

"Prolonged battles are disadvantageous—we need to crush Hoolay's farce in minutes. Though Jiaoqiu always hopes I'll hold back and not go all out, right now… it's time for a true 'swift and decisive battle.'"

Feixiao speaks into her earpiece communicator. "Calling Exalting Sanctum—if you see light in the sky, everyone scatter immediately!"

The next moment, she curls her lips slightly. "Sister Yukong, lend me your bow!"

The instant Yukong hears the word "light," she already understands. Before the words finish, she tosses her curved bow.

Feixiao catches it gracefully, leaps, and arrives on a nearby rooftop.

In the camera.

Feixiao's feet touch nothing—she hovers in midair.

Faint swirling gales dance at her feet.

In her hand, powered by the radiant might of Skybow, she manifests a shining arrow.

She releases the bowstring. The arrow pierces the sky like a meteor.

The camera shifts.

Stelle is swinging her bat vigorously, cracking a borisin's skull on the spot.

Suddenly she notices a bright light in the sky.

"What's that?"

Moze's body jolts. Even he, who didn't panic facing Hoolay, now shouts loudly, "Scatter! Everyone scatter!"

BOOM——

A mushroom cloud rises over Exalting Sanctum.

Feixiao finally exhales in relief, but the next moment her body tenses, red light flashes, and she laboriously clutches her chest.

[This is way too fucking cool.]

[Such perfect synergy—seriously badass!]

[As expected of the female protagonist Feixiao!]

[Damn, even as a girl I couldn't help screaming.]

[This segment is explosively cool. The Hunt feels so good! Great victory, great victory, great victory!]

[Heaven-Shooting General!]

[Lan is nicknamed Little Feixiao.]

[Reversing heaven and earth, hahaha.]

[The true Hunt!]

[Look at Moze's face—I'm dying. The moment he looks up and sees Feixiao's arrow coming, that panicked expression. Hahaha.]

[Feixiao: Borisin detected. Permission for nuclear fusion strike.]

[Moze really panicked—straight-up yanked Stelle away.]

[One arrow!]

[Is this arrow a nuke? It even made a mushroom cloud.]

[I just want to know—what if it hit Stelle and triggered the Stellaron inside?]

[My Heaven-Shooting General, Great Victory General, Expressionless General!]

[Didn't anyone watch the last frame? Clearly Feixiao's at her limit.]

[Yeah, they said it—Feixiao's power has reached its limit.]

[Are they seriously going to kill off Feixiao?]

[Shut up—if they really do, you'll be the one crying.]

— —

Meanwhile, in Aurum Alley.

The wind arrow descending from the sky precisely strikes down every borisin.

Moze and Stelle are re-patrolling Aurum Alley.

Moze still seems shaken. "Tch, what a pain. I knew things would turn out like this…

Every time she hits the battlefield, she loves making a huge spectacle. Now not even half a living mouth is left to interrogate. Someone among these guys had to know where Hoolay and Jiaoqiu are…"

Stelle scratches her head. "What just happened?"

"That's an 'arrow' shot by Feixiao. Who knows what she used as ammunition this time to reach here."

Stelle nods. "I want to see her shoot another one in person…"

Moze coldly scans Stelle up and down.

Stelle seems to read the blank expression as saying "Isn't cherishing life better?"

"Look around. If you find one or two still-living borisin, tell me. No matter how tight their mouths are, I'll pry them open and get some intel."

"Got it."

After agreeing, Stelle splits up with Moze to search for survivors and Jiaoqiu's whereabouts.

Soon.

Stelle twitches her ears—she hears a survivor's voice nearby.

The camera shifts. Modu leans against the wall, barely supporting himself. His voice is extremely weak, as if surviving Feixiao's arrow has already drained all his strength.

"What a terrifying strike. Who could have imagined… such astonishing power held by a foxian war slave. So decisive, and so… brutal. Compared to us who've fallen to this state, she looks more like a true descendant of Duran. No wonder the Warhead is interested in her."

Stelle slowly steps out from the corner. "To survive a hit like that…"

"I remember you, Modu… You're really one tough cockroach that just won't die." Moze leaps down from the rooftop. "You showing yourself saves us the trouble. It's not too late to surrender. Tell me—Hoolay… and where did Jiaoqiu go?"

Modu sneers. "Save your breath, Yaoqing monkey. Every beast understands one truth: to escape a trap, even tearing off a limb is worth it. Today, I will be that limb.

In my long hunting career, though I followed the Warhead for only this brief moment, his presence shone like the moon over Verdantia, illuminating our long-blinded eyes and showing me the path.

The Duran descendants have forsaken the 'Ancient Precepts of the Wolf.' To cling to life, we hid in darkness, devouring each other; we are no longer wolves, but wretched, pathetic rats.

Thanks to Lord Hoolay's grace, I share his vision and wolf blood—Duran's descendants should live for the victory of the pack and die for the victory of the pack!

Come, Yaoqing scum—bare your claws! You and I, to the death!"

Moze draws his dagger. "Filthy mutt—you've got quite the sense of honor. But you're mistaken. There's no one-on-one fair duel here. Once we both take you down, I hope your mouth stays just as tough."

Stelle points at herself. Though she says nothing, it's clear she's here to spectate and somehow got dragged into the fight.

She quickly adjusts, draws her bat, and joins Moze in a fair two-on-one.

Stelle holds the front while Moze ghosts around, repeatedly backstabbing Modu.

After a few exchanges, Modu—who was already at his last gasp—meets his end.

Moze coldly regards Modu's corpse. "No matter how heroic the sacrifice… borisin, your battles and deaths hold not a shred of honor."

At that moment.

Hoolay's phantom appears before them. "It seems Modu got his wish."

"Hoolay… your 'declaration of war' plan is finished." Moze grips his dagger tightly—if the Hoolay before him weren't a projection, he'd charge.

"No matter where you flee next, General Feixiao will catch you and send you to follow Modu's fate."

Hoolay chuckles lightly. "Your tongue is sharper than your claws. Step aside, boy—let your general speak with me. Our hunting game isn't over yet."

Moze grits his teeth, about to retort.

"Stand down, Moze." Feixiao has appeared behind them at some point. "I'm right here, Hoolay. What else do you have to say?"

"Heaven-Shooting General, though we've never met on the battlefield, along the way I've heard plenty of interesting rumors about you from my subordinates and your healer."

Hoolay looks at Feixiao with clear appreciation. "The Xianzhou people have real guts, letting a foxian war slave with borisin blood climb to the general's seat. Has no one ever questioned your lineage? Or is it your dazzling achievements that temporarily shut everyone's mouths?"

Feixiao remains unruffled by such cheap provocation. She raises a brow. "Chatting familiarly with your enemy on the battlefield counts as a polite way of begging for mercy… Hoolay, are you begging me for mercy?"

"It seems your blood holds not only the wolf's cruelty but also the fox's cunning. In the end, it's a gift from the borisin. What we give, we have the right to take back—Heaven-Shooting General, I extend my final invitation: I await you on the Skysplitter.

Before you arrive, I will unleash slaughter, rekindling the long-dimmed 'Crimson Moon' of seven centuries with fresh bloodlight to illuminate this ship everyone watches, showing the world how weak and incompetent the Xianzhou truly is.

Then I will pilot this vessel, break through every blockade and obstacle, and set foot on the road home—making it the flagship of the borisin resurgence.

Before I complete all this, you have the chance to stop me—or die by my hand. That is the path I've prepared for you."

Feixiao: "I accept your challenge, Hoolay. Because the moment you set foot on the Skysplitter, you've already stepped onto a dead-end path."

[I feel like something's off.]

[What's off?]

[Hoolay heading to the Skysplitter is obvious, but why hasn't the Luofu taken any measures? What is Jing Yuan doing?]

[Yeah, now that you mention it—I forgot. Jing Yuan went to the Shackling Prison and then basically disappeared from the plot.]

[Jing Yuan is still the Divine Foresight General after all. Even I can think of setting a trap on the Skysplitter —how could he not?]

— —

The Martial Exhibition Ceremony is about to begin—on the Skysplitter.

Yunli looks worried. "'What I entrust to you is not merely victory or glory on the ring, but the safety of the Skysplitter itself.' Grandpa said it so casually, but he's giving me all the hard problems.

The first match is starting soon… I wonder if everything's going smoothly on Yanqing's side? According to plan, I should ask the Cloud Knight soldiers on the ship if they've found anything."

But first, Yunli checks on March 7th.

March 7th rushes out of the waiting room in a panic.

Yunli looks at her. "You seem a little nervous."

"I wasn't this nervous at first, but being alone in the waiting room just makes me overthink. After all, this time at the Martial Exhibition Ceremony, we're carrying such a heavy responsibility…" March 7th pats her forehead.

"March, calm down." Yunli says solemnly. "Don't worry about your mission. You still have me, don't you? Don't let Grandpa's 'defending the ring for the Luofu' title scare you.

Ask yourself: you're a Nameless of the Astral Express, always free to come and go. So why, after Grandpa gave us the task, did you board this Skysplitter with me?"

"If I had to say why… it's because I also want the Martial Exhibition Ceremony to go smoothly. For the Nameless, every stop is just a passing visit… but here I met two Masters and made many friends. For everyone's sake, I hope this 'Martial Exhibition Ceremony' goes perfectly."

Yunli gives a thumbs-up. "Well said! The match is about to start—I have to go fulfill Grandpa's task. March, may your sword stay ever sharp and claim victory on the ring."

March 7th clearly perks up, full of energy again. "Thanks, Master Yunli."

With that, Yunli steadies March 7th's nerves and patrols the Skysplitter to ensure everything is secure.

Suddenly, a belated star skiff catches her attention.

"A star skiff arriving at this time? I need to check it out right away."

Yunli strides over to the star skiff. "Routine inspection! All passengers disembark for immediate check!"

Seeing no response, Yunli starts counting down.

She draws her greatsword, advancing one step with each number.

"Three! Two! One!"

With that, Yunli raises Old Mettle high.

"Wait!" Yanqing leaps out from the star skiff. "It's just a routine check—you're not seriously going to smash the ship, are you? Is this some Zhuming tradition too…?"

Yunli continues swinging her greatsword toward Yanqing. "You're not a borisin in disguise, are you?"

"Wait!" Yanqing shouts. "Even if a borisin shapeshifts, they can't turn into someone as short as me! Put the sword away already."

Yunli finds that reasonable and sheathes her greatsword. "Didn't our little brother Yanqing say he was giving up ring defense to go hunt wolves and share the General's burden?"
