Upon hearing Zoey's words, Alan sighed. "I have put in so much effort finding those flowers for your sake, silly. It will be such a waste to use them on me."
Zoey retorted, "With my ability, no one will be able to harm me. Besides, if there's anything that could save your life, regardless of its value, I will find it. Don't tell me this is your destiny. I won't allow you to die no matter what."
After her failure in saving Christopher, she did not want any more regrets in her life.
If Alan died without her doing anything, Zoey would never be able to forgive herself.
Alan was too significant for her that his death was not an option for her.
"You're at it again with that nonsense." Alan then spoke if he was praying. "Oh, heavens. Forgive her for being so naive. She does not harbor malicious intent. She is just too worried about me, that's all." Alan tried to cheer Zoey up with a joke.
Zoey was amused by his shenanigan and laughed.
