Dorothy froze. She stared at Christine's stern face in disbelief.
"Christine. What are you..." Dorothy was unable to put her thoughts into words.
"Dorothy, do you still think I'll let you get away with everything this time?" Christine scoffed. She exposed what Dorothy had been thinking all this time.
Dorothy felt humiliated and embarrassed.
"Did you have to put it that way, Christine? We've known each other for years. Can't you forgive Jeanette just this once?" Dorothy replied.
Christine was absolutely speechless.
"Dorothy, I've always thought you could still differentiate the rights from the wrongs despite being wilful. That was why I befriended you. You even saved my life, and I've since treated you as one of my closest friends. But never in my life have I thought that you would become such a silly woman as the years went by. You can't even tell what is right and what is wrong anymore. I'm extremely disappointed in you," Christine said.
