The next day, Alan went to the Yancey residence. Although he arrived at dawn, he rested in the hotel before visiting them for fear of disturbing their sleep.
"Mr. Bruce?"
Iris Yancey had just returned from Christine's courtyard when she heard Hill's announcement. Thinking that she misheard him, she asked again, "Are you sure?"

Since he changed his phone number and his apprentices kept quiet about his whereabouts, few could find him. That was why Iris Yancey was in disbelief.
"It's true. Mr. Bruce said he's here to see Ms. Fuller and the children."
A hint of excitement flashed across Hill's eyes. "I haven't seen him for a few years, but he still looks as young and healthy as before."
Iris Yancey finally believed in him.
