Zoey watched them as they went further away.
"Zoey, stop pulling a long face. Kayla is a good kid. She won't cross the line," Yvonne piped up.
"I know. I just think she's too clever for her age."
"That's good, isn't it? She won't be cheated by others."
Zoey's mouth curved into a smile as she glanced at Yvonne. "I didn't say that it's bad. I just couldn't help but point it out to her whenever I see her behaving like an adult."
Zoey was worried that Kayla, who was so thoughtful and smart at her age, would lose the joy of being a kid.
However, at that moment, she realized that she had been overthinking.
Yvonne held Zoey's hand and said, "Kayden surely won't allow Kayla to go astray. Kayden, am I right?"
Kayden nodded and said reassuringly, "Yes, Mommy, don't worry. I promise you I will look after Kayla."
