Number 10 nodded and quickly tied Lin Fan beside Butcher Deng. The latter glanced at the unconscious figure next to him and silently sighed.

Back in the shadows, Su Mo and Yang Qingxi watched the scene unfold.
"Miss Yang," Su Mo said, "how much luck does Lin Fan have left?"
"520," she replied. "Why are you asking?"
Su Mo shrugged. "Just calculating how much loss you'd suffer if he dies by accident."
Yang Qingxi's lips twitched.
Then she said calmly, "We can't let him die if we can help it."
Her tone was steady, without hesitation. "He's not Ye Chen. He hasn't done anything unforgivable until now. Taking his opportunities is fine, but not at the cost of his life. At least… not yet."
Su Mo looked at her for a moment. Then his lips curled, and he suddenly started laughing.
Yang Qingxi frowned. "What are you laughing at? Do you think I'm being naïve?"
