This Is Not The Story You Think It Is

Dear Dragon Readers,

Okay… if you came here expecting a lighthearted anime-style fantasy, this might not be exactly what you imagined.

I chose this title for a reason.

Nowadays, many readers are drawn toward stories filled with nonstop power leveling, revenge arcs, instant strength, and overpowered protagonists crushing everything in their path.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Every reader has their own taste, and every story has its place.

But not every story is meant to follow that path.

Some stories are not about power.

They are about people.

About what happens inside a person when the world keeps pushing them down.

Fear. Loneliness. Emotional scars. Growth that only exists because of suffering, failure, and pain.

I wanted Dragon Readers to experience something different.

A story that stays with you quietly.

A story that lingers in your mind even after you close it.

And that is exactly what this novel is.

This novel is rated 18+ not because of sexual content, but because of its emotional weight, psychological depth, violence, tragedy, and dark worldbuilding.

Yuuta, the main character, does not become overpowered overnight.

No one hands him strength.

No destiny chooses him.

And the world shows him no mercy.

He begins as weak, lonely, emotional, broken, and in many ways painfully human… while the woman beside him is an existence powerful enough to shake entire worlds.

If you are looking for a protagonist who becomes instantly godlike through systems, fate, or plot armor, this story may not be what you are looking for.

But if you are willing to follow someone slowly crawling through suffering, mistakes, loss, sacrifice, and growth… then this story may stay with you far longer than expected.

Now, I should also warn you about something else.

This story is strange.

Very strange.

At the beginning, it may feel like a peaceful slice-of-life romance about a man, his dragon wife, and a strangely beautiful family.

And for a while… it truly is.

There will be warmth.

There will be romance.

There will be comedy.

There will be quiet, comforting moments.

But that warmth is not the whole story.

Because underneath it, something darker is slowly waiting.

As the story progresses, the tone begins to shift.

The romance grows heavier.

The emotional wounds deepen.

The world becomes harsher.

Slice-of-life slowly turns into tragedy.

Tragedy turns into dark romance.

And eventually, it evolves into a dark fantasy filled with mystery, ancient horrors, broken people, war, political conflict, and truths buried far beneath the surface.

And once you reach around Chapter 91…

you will begin to see what this world truly is.

The early chapters are intentionally slow because they build the emotional foundation for everything that comes later.

Every peaceful moment has meaning. Every bond has weight.

This story is designed to feel like slowly walking into darkness without realizing it… until it is already around you.

Some readers may find the characters frustrating at times.

Some may feel the pacing is slow in the beginning.

Some choices may hurt to read.

And that is intentional.

Because these are not perfect heroes.

They are people trying to survive in a world that does not care if they break.

So before judging Yuuta for not acting like a cold genius or an overpowered protagonist, I kindly ask you to see him for what he truly is:

A human being trying to endure an impossible world.

As the author, I sincerely ask for your patience.

Please don't leave before seeing what this story becomes.

You can read up to Chapter 91 for free.

Thank you for giving this world a chance.
