A knock came from outside the van. When the door slid open, Max found himself looking out at an active construction site. Judging by the faces around him, this wasn't where anyone had expected to end up.
It looked like a commercial building, the sort that could house thousands of offices when it was finished. Workers were already busy across the site. Both vans had parked on the grounds, with Sizzler's a short distance away.
"Man, what is this?" Tornado Fist said. "Don't tell me they're going to make us do construction work. Have we been tricked or something?"
A few others muttered their own complaints. They weren't the only ones confused. On the ground level, several workers pointed towards the vans and started talking among themselves. Someone shouted for the site manager, and Max could see the panic spreading across their faces.
"Max," Aaron whispered. "I think I know where we are."
"You do?" Max glanced at him in surprise.
