After delegating the kitchen duties to Sunday, Fu Zhu didn't actually go sit down and play on his phone. Instead, he once again set up a crafting table and took out all the necessary equipment from the other mod, [Growthcraft].
The equipment needed for winemaking was simple; the troublesome part was the various materials required for brewing.
Fu Zhu glanced at the slightly crowded party carriage. It was obviously not feasible to plant anything directly inside. Besides the lack of space, the cleanup after the party would be a huge hassle, and he would inevitably get an earful from the conductor, Pom-Pom.
But, none of that was a problem!
If there was no space to farm inside the train, wasn't there a vast expanse of "open land" right outside?
With this thought, Fu Zhu immediately walked over to the window of the party carriage. Himeko, who was chatting with Jade, saw him standing by the window and walked over with Jade, both holding their wine glasses. She asked with curiosity, "Fu Zhu, are you tired from cooking? Do you need me to pour you a cup of coffee to wake you up?"
Hearing this, Fu Zhu quickly waved his hands.
Himeko's coffee was indeed very refreshing, but the side effects were a bit much.
He really didn't want to be coughing up blood while cooking. Even if he was willing, the others probably wouldn't dare to touch the food after seeing that.
"It's fine, Himeko. I'm just stepping out for a bit."
Fu Zhu smiled and waved his hand, then switched to Observer Mode and passed directly through the carriage wall. He then re-materialized in space, using the Astral Express as an anchor point, and began to lay down dirt blocks extending outwards.
Himeko and Jade were both stunned by this scene.
They had thought that when Fu Zhu said he was "stepping out," he meant going to another planet. They never imagined he literally meant just stepping outside… And from the looks of it, as he laid out farmland, he was planning to farm?
Jade, standing to the side, was immediately intrigued. She knew that with Fu Zhu's methods, anything he took out, even just a few seeds, would have its own unique properties!
Thinking of this, Jade put down her wine glass and leaned against the carriage window, watching Fu Zhu with rapt attention as he busied himself in space.
Fu Zhu built the farm with incredible speed. In just a few minutes, he had laid out a hundred square meters of tilled soil. He placed trellises on top, took out various grape seeds, and tossed them onto the trellises. Vines immediately grew on the wooden stakes, wrapping around them tightly.
After finishing this, Fu Zhu set aside another plot of land and planted apple trees. A large number of apples were needed for brewing, so a separate orchard was essential.
Finally, Fu Zhu took out torches and lit up the entire farm to prevent the crops from failing to grow due to the lack of a light source in space.
With everything done, Fu Zhu clapped his hands and returned to the train.
As soon as he came back, Jade enthusiastically brought over two glasses of wine, walking over with Himeko. She smiled and handed one of the glasses to Fu Zhu.
"Mr. Fu, were you farming outside just now?"
Although Fu Zhu's actions had been quite obvious, she still hoped to get a definite answer from him to prevent any misunderstandings.
"Yeah, couldn't you tell?"
Fu Zhu took the wine glass and took a sip. He glanced back at the farm outside, then looked at Jade. He felt his actions had been perfectly clear. How could she not see it?
Jade understood the meaning in Fu Zhu's eyes and explained with a smile, "It's mainly because you've demonstrated too many methods that defy logic, Mr. Fu. And your style of doing things is a bit… eccentric. So I was worried there might be some kind of misunderstanding."
Fu Zhu couldn't help but fall silent. Why did it sound like Jade was calling him a god-like being?
Seeing Fu Zhu go quiet, Jade quickly added, "Of course, I don't mean that in a bad way. I just simply feel that way."
As expected of a businesswoman, her ability to read people is top-notch.
Fu Zhu didn't dwell on the issue, instead turning to explain the farm outside.
"Those are the ingredients I'll need for brewing later. It won't be long before you can all drink the wine I've brewed myself."
We can drink it today?
Jade was a little surprised. Himeko, standing next to her, wore the same astonished expression.
"Mr. Fu, you…"
Jade had wanted to say that Fu Zhu was joking, but she quickly recalled the bone meal he had used before—a miraculous item that could ripen any plant. If he used that on these grapes, then what he said wasn't an exaggeration.
However, she looked at Fu Zhu, and it didn't seem like he had any intention of going out to sprinkle bone meal. Could he be planning to let these plants grow on their own?
Never mind the fact that these plants were in outer space without any protection.
Just the thought of completing the two lengthy processes of growing and brewing before the victory feast tonight was somewhat preposterous.
Could it be that Fu Zhu was going to use the power of a Path? But that didn't seem likely either.
After much thought, only one idea remained in Jade and Himeko's minds.
These plants themselves possessed the ability to grow at high speeds and thrive in any abnormal environment!
This point also perfectly matched Jade's initial guess.
Jade turned her head to look out the window. Seeing that the grapevines on the trellises had already grown a little, her eyes lit up. She felt she had sniffed out a business opportunity!
Extremely fast growth rate, extremely high environmental adaptability, no need for fertile soil… The only requirement seemed to be a need for light.
Jade had noticed that Fu Zhu had intentionally used torches to light up the entire farm. But compared to the previous points, light was the easiest problem to solve. Just shine a big lightbulb on it, and everything would be resolved without any technical expertise!
After a moment of thought, Jade felt it was necessary to understand another key piece of information.
"Mr. Fu, what is the yield of these plants?"
"The yield?"
Fu Zhu looked at the grapevines. Without some of the specific trinkets from Minecraft, the harvest from these plants, just like vanilla crops, wouldn't be very high.
"Each plant should yield two or three per harvest."
Two or three? That's really not much.
Seeing the somewhat disappointed look on Jade's face, Fu Zhu waved his hand dismissively. "Don't underestimate them. Believe it or not, if I put all my effort into growing these grapes, I could crash your company's related industries in a month."
Jade subconsciously wanted to say that was impossible, but Fu Zhu beat her to it, pointing a finger at the grapevines outside the window.
Jade followed his finger and saw that the vines were already laden with plump, ripe grapes!
"This… this fast?!"
Fu Zhu grinned at her.
"MC is amazing, right?"
