Chapter 511 - Chapter 510: Art of the Piercing Void

It wasn't impossible for him to be attacked in his old age.

And this man was different from Ryuji. His desires were genuinely faint, giving Ryuji the feeling that he had descended into this world bearing some kind of heavenly mandate, as though he had come into this world solely to fulfill his mission.

Ryuji couldn't become someone like Ryu, but that didn't stop him from respecting someone like him. That was also why Ryuji had treated him so politely.

"But the secret scroll he left behind is pretty interesting..."

As Ryuji flipped through the secret scroll Ryu had left behind, his expression grew increasingly strange.

There were quite a few techniques for maneuvering through the air, and all of them were extremely advanced. There were many techniques that Ryuji himself had never even thought of.

But there were even more subtle techniques.

For example, observing appearances, as well as techniques for training one's instincts. Ryuji looked over the method for training instincts, and there wasn't much to say about its basic principle. It was simply about using one's instincts to fight.

As for the specific theory, it was somewhat similar to Ultra Instinct from Dragon Ball, except the power it used was rather special.

However, Ryuji also found some very strange techniques inside.

"Teleportation..."

Ryuji fell silent as he looked at the 'ninjutsu' that could be used simply by forming a few hand seals.

Because this was a genuine teleportation technique. It precisely recorded the spatial coordinates of this world and the method for using them. Ryuji tried sensing it and, sure enough, by following the method described, he could perceive the folds and flow of space. If everything written in the secret scroll was true, then all he needed to do was make slight use of those spatial folds, and he would be able to teleport endlessly from place to place while consuming only a negligible amount of energy and stamina.

Moreover, the same principle could be applied to long-distance teleportation. It was simply that the greater the distance, the more energy it consumed.

For comparison, teleporting one meter required roughly as much stamina as normally walking ten meters. For people like them, whose bodies far surpassed ordinary humans, that was nothing. But for ordinary people, it would be rather terrifying.

Ryuji quickly continued reading and soon found even more 'ninjutsu.' But when he saw one particular technique, he fell silent.

Art of the Piercing Void.

It looked like nothing more than an overly dramatic name, but its actual description went like this:

'Use telekinetic energy formed in the lower dantian to induce a gravitational anomaly, then guide the gravity and spatial distortion to form a miniature black hole. Pierce it through the enemy and trigger an explosion...'

After reading this far, Ryuji couldn't help but raise his head. He looked at Kasumi Shiranui beside him, then at the scroll in his hands, and subconsciously scratched his head.

Because Kasumi Shiranui's ultimate techniques, in other words, the techniques of the Mugen Tenshin clan, were ultimately just skills that combined complicated forms of energy manipulation with physical techniques. Ryuji wouldn't say he could create one such ultimate technique every day, but if he spent three days thinking about it, he could still create something even more refined.

But this Art of the Piercing Void...

To put it simply, one was like one plus one.

The other was calculus.

"I mean, are you people really from the same martial art style?"

Ryuji couldn't help asking the question from the bottom of his heart. And the knowledge of space recorded in this scroll didn't match the knowledge of space that he already knew!

In other words, the concepts of space and gravity in this world had their own unique laws. Although they were compatible with outsiders like him and Tifa, they were undoubtedly completely different from those of other worlds.

Simply put, these techniques were just like his enhanced perception, they were basically limited to use within this world.

If he wanted unrestricted teleportation across different worlds, he'd still have to figure that out himself.

"Even if you ask me that, I have no idea either..."

Kasumi Shiranui looked equally bewildered.

She was becoming more and more unable to understand how Hayate had ever been considered Ryu Hayabusa's equal.

"Forget it. There's no point thinking about it."

Ryuji began carefully studying the scroll Ryu had left behind. Many of the things inside simply didn't exist among the Shiranui-ryu's records.

More importantly, even if these techniques couldn't be used in other worlds, as long as he accumulated enough knowledge and gained a deeper understanding of space itself, then even if his system panel didn't grant him a Teleportation skill in the future, he could still quickly figure out how teleportation worked in whatever world he entered and successfully use techniques such as teleportation and spatial transfer.

In short, there was no downside to learning more. It was simply another piece of technical knowledge to add to his foundation. Besides, Ryuji hadn't expected too much from what Ryu had given him anyway.

After all, to Ryuji, Ryu Hayabusa wasn't an invincible opponent.

However, Ryuji felt that the Shiranui-ryu's ninjutsu could be upgraded again.

So, he decided that tonight he would thoroughly study Ryu's scroll before further improving the Shiranui-ryu.

After all, as the second person to truly surprise him, although Ryu hadn't actually fought him, he had shown Ryuji another possibility and confirmed that the path Ryuji had chosen wasn't the wrong one.

Because of that, Ryuji didn't go looking for Mai, nor did he secretly go to Christina's place to "refill her milk," nor did he go bother Chun-Li. Instead, he devoted himself entirely to studying the scroll in his hands. Even when Tifa returned, he was still reading it.

It wasn't because the contents were especially profound. They were still within his ability to understand.

Rather, it represented an entirely different style and path, and that inspired Ryuji greatly.

"If only I could have a real fight with Ryu Hayabusa. Even if I lost, I'd still be able to learn so much... It's a shame that he has absolutely no desire for something like that."

Setting the scroll down, Ryuji had already finished reading most of it. He now had a general understanding of the power system Ryu used.

However, like Tifa's system, it wasn't particularly suitable for him.

He simply absorbed some of its concepts and didn't continue studying further. He had also experimented with some of the ninjutsu. Some of them worked, while others couldn't be used because his own power's attributes were incompatible.

Mai, on the other hand, might actually be able to use them.

However, just as he was quietly contemplating all of this in the meditation room, a series of quiet footsteps approached from outside.

Ryuji immediately raised his head.

But from the footsteps alone, he already recognized who it was.

"Kasumi? What are you doing here?"
