"I apologize for the wait, guest~"
Minutes later, the female fiend arrived at the private room Yugen had selected within the Blood Charm Palace. She appeared even more scantily clad than she had been at the entrance, intentionally swaying her hips as she walked, causing her black tail to flick back and forth.
The room was undeniably exquisite, permeated by a faint, exotic fragrance. A wide, soft bed sat in the center, draped with thin gauze curtains. Around it stood an elegant table laden with various unknown snacks from the Demon Realm.
"I have two questions first." Yugen made a gesture for the fiend to stop.
She blinked a few times and gave a fawning smile. "A guest as generous as you can ask as many questions as he likes. I promise to tell you everything I know."
While he was being "generous," it wasn't actually Yugen's own money. He didn't possess any demon currency, after all. He was spending the Warden's money.
Before leaving the Bunker, he had "borrowed" a large stack of bills from the Warden. He couldn't read the currency and didn't know the exact amount, but judging by the way the female fiend had looked at him like he was her long-lost father when she took the money, it was likely quite a fortune.
"Who is the guest in the room directly above this one?" Yugen asked.
"Eh?"
The fiend was taken aback, clearly not expecting such a question. She hesitated for a moment before shaking her head. "I don't know."
"You don't know, or you're unwilling to say?"
She gave an awkward laugh. "Guest, you should know our rules. All information regarding our clients is kept secret, and every private room is strictly independent. We promise that whatever happens in a room stays in that room; no outsider will ever know. After all, you wouldn't want us leaking your information either, would you?"
"Reasonable." Yugen thought for a moment. "So, every room is completely independent? Only one guest per room, right?"
"Of course." She patted her chest proudly to guarantee it, causing her figure to tremble.
"Understood." Yugen nodded.
The fiend blinked again. "Then, may we begin?"
"What? Oh, right. This might hurt a little, so bear with it."
The fiend immediately giggled. "I've heard that line many times before. Don't worry, guest. Despite my looks, my body is quite sturdy and can handle some rough treatment. I'm not afraid."
"That's good then." Yugen nodded and looked behind her. "Do it."
"Eh?"
Stunned, the fiend instinctively turned around, only to see Silent Magician standing there. Without a word or expression, the magician brought her staff down hard across the fiend's head.
Thump.
The fiend's vision went black, and she collapsed on the spot, falling into a dead faint.
Silent Magician pulled back her staff and retreated to Yugen's side without a sound. It might have been a trick of the light, but even though she remained expressionless, Yugen felt like he could see a hint of "I've been wanting to hit you for a while" in the way she looked at the unconscious demon.
Ignoring the girl on the floor, Yugen asked, "Are you sure it's directly above?"
"Indeed," Black Luster Soldier's voice rang out. "At this proximity, I can be absolutely certain."
"Good."
Yugen stepped through the window onto the stone platform that served as a balcony. Silent Magician grabbed him, and together they leaped, jumping from the exterior to the window of the platform on the floor above.
Maintaining his composure, Yugen didn't burst in immediately. Instead, he crouched outside to observe.
A voice drifted from inside. "Oh, Divine Messenger, you're amazing"
Then came a coarse male voice: "Do not call me that. I have hidden my identity for this inspection and told only you. You must not leak this news."
"Yes, I understand," the female voice giggled. "But speaking of which, you've been here for several days. Is it really alright if you don't go on your inspection?"
"Heh, there's no rush. The fools at the Bunker are probably racking their brains trying to guess who the Envoy is, nervous as can be. Let them stay in that state for a few more days."
The gruff voice laughed.
Yugen: "..."
So, it sounded like this was the legendary Envoy?
Leaving work undone to hide in a place like this and enjoy himselflikely on the public dime, too. Yugen mused that the anti-corruption work within the Orichalcos organization had a long way to go.
Still, when fate arrived, it truly came with no effort at all. It looked like he was going to complete his 100% collection achievement for the Bunker today after all.
Boom!
A sudden attack caused an explosion right where Yugen was hiding. The window and the wall were blasted into fragments as a cloud of thick smoke rolled out.
The gruff voice spoke coldly, "Someone actually dares to pry into my business? Do you have a death wish?"
However, as the smoke slowly cleared, a milky-white spell barrier was revealed around the breach in the wall. Yugen stood unharmed within the protective field, smiling. "You're surprisingly alert, Divine Messenger."
Only then did he see the so-called "Divine Messenger." It was a hideous, red Beast-Type monster with boar-like tusks and a powerful physique.
It was the Duel Monster [Great Angus], a Level 4 monster with 1800 ATK.
As for the female voice in the room, she was also a Beast-Type, resembling a leopard-like monster. She had elegant body lines and fur the color of a deep night blue, speckled with silver star-like spots, and crystalline, shimmering cat eyes.
Is it just me, or does spending too much time single make even a leopard look...
Well, a seasoned gentleman might appreciate it, but Yugen certainly couldn't. No matter how he looked at it, it was just a bipedal female leopard.
"The power of a spirit... you," the Envoy said coldly. "A duelist who defies the Holy Teachings?"
He squinted, snorted, and raised his arm. A flesh-red Duel Disk quickly materialized on his hand, along with a deck.
"I do not know which tribe you hail from or what path you follow. But to dare stand before methe chosen Envoy who has received the divine blessingis utter suicide."
Yugen smiled but didn't respond. He simply deployed his Duel Disk.
"Duel!" x2
[Yugen, LP 4000]
[Envoy, LP 4000]
"I'll take the first move. Draw!"
The Envoy drew his card, swept his gaze over the four cards in his hand, and gave a cruel grin. "Hmph. To draw the key card bestowed by god right at the start..."
He raised a card high with his thick claws.
"Field Spell, 'The Seal of Orichalcos', activate!"
A pillar of green light shot into the sky as the hexagram mark surfaced beneath both their feet. The barrier of the evil god enveloped the field, its green radiance piercing through the clouds.
The spectacle immediately drew the gazes of the surrounding fiends. Demons passing by outside the building turned to stare with awe and terror, some even dropping to their knees in worship.
After all, this was a Spirit City already occupied by the Orichalcos. Seeing the Seal was like witnessing the descent of a god.
"Hehe, looks like your luck has run out, kid," the Envoy sneered.
"Is that so? In that case, it's already too late for you to regret this and try to run," Yugen replied with a smile. "It seems you're trapped in here with me."
Envoy: "???"
