"Mm... what are you doing?" Ariana asked, her eyes half-lidded as she noticed Adrian sitting at the edge of the bed, going through a stack of papers.
"Did I wake you up?" he asked, a hint of apology in his voice.
"No... I was just feeling thirsty," she replied, her throat dry.
Adrian flexed his fingers, and the jug resting nearby lifted into the air, followed by a glass.
He poured some water and turned toward her. "Here."
Ariana, unusually lazy, rolled closer to him and murmured, "Feed me."
This whiny side of hers was rare, which made him smile helplessly. Gently, he supported her head and helped her drink.
Ariana let out a soft "pwah" once she finished and tilted her face up toward him.
Adrian wiped the corner of her lips with his thumb. "How do you feel? Any pain or discomfort?"
It wasn't her first time, yet Adrian always asked. Every single time, as if he still felt guilty for making her go through all that strain.
