Chapter 36:The line between death and justice
It was now February 15 2027. Sota was in the golden chronical. He was alone he was in his desk and he was about to post the story that Fumiatsu needed him to post. As he was gonna click send a hand immediately grabs his hand puts him in a choke hold and released him after a few seconds. The grip was strong. Sota fell to the floor coughing. He looked up. Sota's eyes widened in terror "Its you. Tetsuya and Merrin. " Merrin had his usual false smile. Tetsuya looked as cold as always. Sota said "what the hell are you both doing here" Sota stood Up and continued saying "I haven't see you Tetsuya since the red ghoul incident 3 years ago and Merrin i haven't seen you since the train incident a year ago. I got an alert Tetsuya earlier this morning i got an alert and it says your a fugitive Tetsuya. " Tetsuya looked outside and said calmly. "The red ghoul tried to kill me less then 48 hours ago. He was recruited by Toshiro sobu. " Sato said "are you sure your talking about Toshiro sobu " Sato showed both of them the neo sun tzu project files and after 20 minutes when they finished reading it. " Tetsuya looked at him and said "if we release this He will be forced out of the shadows he'll be cornered. This was my goal for over a month. For over a month I hunted Toshiro sobu me and my associates and your telling me you wanna stop me. " Merrin said "Tell me what happens when Toshiro sobu has nothing left to lose. The confines of the school is restraining him. He knows he has to keep his false persona. As long as he remains principal he cannot move freely." We've already lost the element of suprise. We need a strike team. Sota give me your phone. Sota sighed and reluctantly gave it up . Tetsuya called someone and Tetsuya said "Aoi bring those students you chose as witnesses and meet us at the golden chronicle. " Tetsuya hung up and called someone else. Tetsuya said "Kenzo i need you and Ren to head to the golden chronicle now." Sota heard Kenzo say something but couldn't fully hear it. Tetsuya said. "What do you mean you have extra company to bring?. " after a minute Tetsuya said "Very well. " Tetsuya said "Operation Strike has begun" Sota scratched his head wondering what that means but he guessed it was just some kind of team. Sota said "Can i post this headline or not. " in unison Tetsuya said "do it." And Merrin saying "No." Sota looked at Merrin's eyes. They looked Cold whenever something serious happened." Sota said "Let's just wait a while all right. " Merrin looked at the Photo on his desk. It was his wife and his 2 year old boy recently. Merrin said "They're going to die." Sota's eyes widened "What..." Merrin continued and said "If you post this headline your wife and child are going to die they will find them and they will ensure they don't make it. Then after they'll make you paranoid until the final moment when they deal the finishing blow and then your Dead." Sota stood Up slightly angry saying "Listen i know what im doing here I've dealt with people like this before I've interviewed Sociopaths, Serial killers every screwed up peice of trash this earth could conjure up and I have never been scared of any of them in my damn life." Merrin looked out the window and said "On the train....there were 2 people i was sent to assasinate. The person you saw me nearly kill and then....You Sota. " Sota's eyes widened. Merrin continued and said "and said "the board of directors or the people who oversee the golden chronicle deemed you a threat a year ago. Your boss made you stop pursuing a certain case because he Knew that they'd try and Kill you. On that day in the train you didn't know I was also sent to assasinate you. I told Toshiro sobu that you didn't know anything so he called the target off you. The only reason your child still has a father and the reason your wife isn't a widow..." Merrin turned to Sota and said "Is because of me." Sota stayed silent. The 3 of them sat in silence waiting for the others to come.
