Chapter 646: The True Identity of "Wei Na"
Since she had come with the intent to kill, "Wei Na" didn't waste time on words. She wielded two super artifacts in her hands, slashing toward Ye Wen. However, having shared many years with her as his wife, Ye Wen wasn't about to unleash his full force against her. Instead, he focused on fending off her attacks while quickly sending Ah Yin to safety.
By now, the other God Kings present had recovered from their shock and joined the battle, rallying to defend their leader and spiritual pillar. Regardless of Wei Na's status as Queen, they wouldn't let this blatant attack go unanswered.
Even some Soul Beast deities who once stood by "Wei Na" turned against her, joining the assault. But the chaos only deepened when several God Kings suddenly turned on their comrades, attacking their former allies without hesitation.
Amidst the mayhem, Ye Wen briefly broke away from "Wei Na," noticing something unsettling in the energy flowing from the wound she inflicted.
"This… it is Wei Na's divine energy. But why is there negative energy mixed within it?" In a flash, understanding dawned on Ye Wen's face, his expression darkening with rage.
"Damn it, Celestial Demons!"
Meanwhile, the meeting hall lay in ruins, and the God Kings' intense combat had already started impacting Douluo Star. Although Douluo Star was strengthened to withstand such high level battles, an all out clash of this magnitude would inevitably lead to its ruin.
Not willing to let his painstaking efforts fall to dust, Ye Wen held off "Wei Na" and began forming complex hand seals with both hands.
"Super Divine Skill: Domain Expansion Heaven Altering Earth Shifting!"
Instantly, Ye Wen expanded his domain, encompassing all the God Kings present. This domain did not provide attack or defense. Instead, its sole purpose was to forcibly teleport everyone within it to another location.
The energy cost of transporting so many God Kings was steep, even for the Supreme God King. However, being on Douluo Star, where he could continually draw on the realm's vast energy, Ye Wen's strength was replenished almost as quickly as it was depleted.
Once they reached the depths of the cosmic void, Ye Wen no longer held back. His gaze sharpened, glinting with lethal intent as he glared at those who had betrayed him.
He realized now he'd made a grave miscalculation. Accustomed to the standard Celestial Demon forms faceless creatures with smoky tails he had underestimated their adaptability. The Celestial Demons had found a way to retain the original appearances of those they transformed. Clearly, these defectors were God Kings who had been brainwashed and assimilated into the Celestial Demons' ranks.
But as long as Douluo Star remained intact, there was still time to set things right.
Summoning his super artifact, the Boundless Sea Blade, Ye Wen unleashed his full strength.
"Every last one of you will die here! Super Divine Skill: Space Severance!"
With a single swing of the endless blades, Ye Wen locked the traitorous God Kings in a stasis of frozen space.
When the space resumed its flow, the bodies of his former allies lay lifeless, bearing silent testimony to the power of the Supreme God King.
The surviving God Kings looked on in awe and terror, overwhelmed by the raw force Ye Wen had displayed. Pride and loyalty swelled in their hearts, for this man was their leader, their unmatched God King.
Despite his wrath, Ye Wen held back one final blow. He had spared "Wei Na."
As the two stood in silent confrontation, Ye Wen addressed the remaining God Kings.
"Return to Douluo Star and maintain order," he commanded coldly. "And remember be vigilant. Don't be as foolish as these traitors who let themselves be assimilated by the Celestial Demons despite the very weapons we developed to counter them."
"Yes, Your Majesty!" the gods responded in unison before hastily departing.
At last, Ye Wen and "Wei Na" were alone in the void.
Narrowing his eyes, Ye Wen demanded, "Who are you? And where is the real Wei Na?"
The Celestial Demons' assimilation required them to be the dominant party in strength or for the target to be incapacitated and defenseless. Ye Wen had long suspected the Celestial Demon Primordial, their ruler, wielded strength equal to his own, at the Supreme God King level.
Yet, even among equals, strength varied. Until he faced the Primordial in battle, Ye Wen couldn't gauge its true power. However, with Wei Na also having reached Supreme God King status, she couldn't have been overtaken silently.
This left only one answer: the entity before him wore Wei Na's face and wielded her energy but was not, in fact, Wei Na.
So, where was the real Wei Na? A chill spread through Ye Wen's heart as he considered the implications of such a deception within his own stronghold.
"Wei Na's" flawless features twisted into a chilling, scornful smile, and an unmistakably male voice emerged. "As expected of the Douluo Civilization's ruler keen enough to see through my disguise at a glance."
"Enough nonsense," Ye Wen retorted icily. "I don't care who you are. Release my wife, or you'll learn firsthand what it means to provoke the wrath of a dragon."
The imposter merely laughed, indifferent to Ye Wen's threat.
The next moment, a black sun materialized in "Wei Na's" hand, and her once ethereal, tranquil face transformed into that of a middle aged man, regal and terrifyingly familiar.
Ye Wen's eyes widened in shock. "Dragon God!"
Realization hit him: this was why he hadn't sensed any flaw in the disguise. Wei Na, after all, was herself a part of the Dragon God, and mimicking the aura of one's own essence was child's play for him. As for his Supreme God King status? That was a given. Even in a weakened form, the Dragon God's true nature allowed him to mimic the full power of such a deity.
However, a dark suspicion clouded Ye Wen's mind. Why the Dragon God? He had returned once before but not in this form. Could he have gone mad once more, aligning himself with the Celestial Demons?
Ye Wen immediately dismissed the thought as illogical. If the Dragon God had wanted dominance, he could have returned to reclaim the Divine Realm ages ago. Even as a disembodied soul, he could have rebuilt his power within Douluo.
A far more alarming possibility took root in Ye Wen's mind: the Dragon God had been assimilated. Just as the Celestial Demons had brainwashed Shura, why couldn't they do the same to a half resurrected Dragon God?
The Dragon God's voice echoed across the void, ominous and mocking. "Though this may seem rushed, let me, the first Primordial, truly test your strength today!"

Chapter 647: The True Form of the Celestial Demon Primordial (Part 1)
At the very moment the Dragon God's words faded, Ye Wen's pupils contracted in shock. Suddenly, the world around him twisted, and an ominous atmosphere descended. The very space seemed to be dragging Ye Wen toward some unknown destination.
It was unmistakably a Domain Expansion, Ye Wen's own signature move.
In less than a thousandth of a second, Ye Wen snapped back to full awareness. "Domain Expansion: Boundless World!"
In an instant, black and white forces clashed, interweaving in a cosmic battle, each refusing to yield as they seemed to replay the creation of the universe itself.
Finally, the two domains reached an equilibrium, forming a surreal world of black and white.
Ye Wen's expression grew grim. While Domain Expansion had become a well known skill in this world, he hadn't expected his opponent to mirror his own technique so closely. What truly shocked him, however, was that the Dragon God's domain possessed the unique trait of a complete, self contained world.
In Douluo, Ye Wen's domain was endowed with such a trait due to his world's blessings. Though the Dragon God was once a child of Douluo's destiny, it seemed he had forged his own world, one steeped in dense negative energy. And through his acute sense of space, Ye Wen perceived that, beyond the Dragon God's domain, there lurked some deeper, unseen presence.
That unknown presence was so obscure and dark that Ye Wen couldn't fully grasp its essence until the Dragon God launched his attack.
"Hahaha! Marvelous, Ye Wen! Is this the extent of your power? I want more! Entertain me with your full strength!"
As he spoke, the dark sun in the Dragon God's hands swelled, drawing in not only the negative energy of his own domain but also absorbing and corrupting the positive energy of Ye Wen's Boundless World. It grew with fearsome intensity.
The dark sun emitted a cold, eerie light that, while lacking heat, scorched everything it touched within Ye Wen's domain. The sheer distortion of it unsettled Ye Wen.
Yet there was no time for contemplation. In a flash, he raised his Boundless Sea Blade, conjuring countless radiant blades that slashed toward his foe. The clash of these two powers created an arena of cutting and searing energy, instantly lethal to any God King who dared to enter.
Amidst the chaos, Ye Wen continued unleashing his infinite barrage of strikes, buying time to observe his opponent. While he could easily end the battle with brute force, it was clear the Dragon God, with his strange abilities, would not be defeated so simply. Ye Wen had to pinpoint his opponent's weakness.
"Let me see your true form."
Fighting coolly and analytically, Ye Wen activated his perception abilities, attempting to glimpse the hidden secrets behind his opponent's power. The Dragon God's strength was undeniably rooted in the Celestial Demon's negative energy, but Ye Wen sensed something far deeper.
A Supreme God King, even one in a half dead state, wouldn't so easily become a puppet. Clearly, the Celestial Demon Primordial held a profound secret.
As Ye Wen extended his divine sense, he was suddenly jolted, nearly losing his concentration. His face twisted in pain as he struggled to keep his attacks from faltering.
"So this… this is your true form, Celestial Demon Primordial!"
"Hehehe… you're too late, Supreme God King of Boundless Seas! Now, surrender your body to me!"
Ye Wen's voice began as his usual confident tone but grew cold and vicious, as if someone else were speaking through him. His face contorted, flickering between determination and wickedness until, finally, he locked his expression in steely resolve.
"You underestimate me, Celestial Demon Primordial! True, you've hidden yourself within a twisted pseudo space, using an imitation universe as the foundation of your civilization. But I didn't reach this level to let some parasite consume my world. As long as I'm growing stronger, looking to greater heights, you'll never seize my domain!"
With his voice echoing with unyielding power, Ye Wen's aura surged to its peak, and his Boundless World entirely engulfed the Dragon God's blackened domain. At once, the Dragon God lost the support of the Celestial Demon Primordial, and the dark sun in his hand shrank back to its original size.
Though Ye Wen had wrested control of the domain, a blot of black corruption remained, shifting and writhing as if trying to reclaim its dominance over the cosmos.
Ye Wen knew that as long as this dark core existed, the Celestial Demon Primordial would retain his grip on the Dragon God. He had to act now, striking the Dragon God at his weakest.
With a sweeping motion, the boundless blades surrounding Ye Wen dissipated, and the Boundless Sea Blade in his hand glowed with powerful, concentrated positive energy, held firmly in his grip.
"Dragon God! Your story ends here! Supreme Divine Skill: Endless Extinction!"
With calm finality, Ye Wen slashed through the Dragon God's form, each strike bearing the power of endless obliteration. In that final instant, the Dragon God's eyes regained their former clarity and wisdom, and a look of serene release softened his gaze as he dissolved into dust, scattering into the cosmos.
At first glance, it was a single strike, but in reality, Ye Wen's blade had unleashed countless blows in the blink of an eye. Each carried the essence of his disciple Huo Yu'er's Requiem Law, rendering it the ultimate killing technique.
As the Dragon God faded, the black blemish within Ye Wen's domain began to dissipate. Finally, Ye Wen exhaled in relief. Although he didn't fear a direct confrontation with the Celestial Demon Primordial, the Primordial's entrenchment within its unique pocket universe prevented Ye Wen from fully countering it. Only an attack as vast as a Boundless Extinction across cosmic dimensions could hope to obliterate it.
The Primordial's lair itself was a realm of twisted emotions from countless beings. As long as any Celestial Demon remained, that world would endure.
So for now, Ye Wen saw only two ways to destroy it:
First, the simplest approach: exterminating every Celestial Demon. However, even this was daunting. The Douluo civilization had hunted Celestial Demons for ten thousand years, yet they remained in sufficient numbers, hidden throughout the vast universe, evading total annihilation.

Chapter 648: The True Form of the Celestial Demon Civilization, Part 2
The second method would require an extraordinary feat: locating the Celestial Demon Primordial's mental essence within its hidden, extradimensional realm and annihilating it. However, this approach posed a daunting challenge the sheer size of that elusive, alternate world was said to rival the vastness of the Douluo Civilization's own domain.
How could he even begin to search for it under such circumstances?
Confronted with this shadowy foe that never revealed itself, Ye Wen was at an utter loss, frustrated by his inability to root out the Celestial Demon's true form. In their last battle, he'd barely escaped being fully converted by the Celestial Demon Primordial. One misstep, and his divine consciousness might have been overtaken. Had that happened, his painstakingly built Douluo Civilization would have been reduced to a mere extension of his enemy's will.
Yet despite the relief of having survived, a deeper sorrow weighed on Ye Wen's heart.
"Nana… N'er…"
A profound pain shadowed Ye Wen's face. He couldn't shake the guilt that gnawed at him. It was his own insufficiency that had failed to detect the Celestial Demon's insidious infiltration of Douluo, leaving his beloved wife replaced, their true whereabouts unknown. As the ruler of Douluo and a husband, Ye Wen found himself lacking.
But even he knew he had to push aside the personal pain and lift the domain he had conjured.
Instantly, a wave of fatigue struck him, a testament to the exhaustion brought on by maintaining the domain and resisting the Primordial's mental assault. But there was no time to rest he needed to return to Douluo Star and restore order. Ye Wen knew his duty, to both his family and his civilization.
Just as he was about to depart, four overwhelming presences appeared before him, each radiating a powerful divine aura.
Ye Wen's eyes narrowed in shock as he recognized them.
One of them was none other than the familiar Shura God King. Accompanying him was a gargantuan serpent the size of an asteroid belt and another being with the face of a spider the Celestial Demon Primordial, Rose. And the last one, heartbreakingly familiar, was his wife.
"Nana…" Ye Wen whispered painfully.
Before, he'd believed that Nana might have been unconscious, held captive somewhere. But now, it was clear that the worst had come to pass. Nana, too, had been overtaken, just as Shura had.
Nana's lips curled into a twisted smile, her voice taking on an eerie tone. "Ah, Supreme God King of the Boundless Seas, your pain is delectable. I can't wait to indulge in more, to savor every last morsel until you're fully mine."
As the words fell from her lips, the four launched themselves at Ye Wen as if on cue.
Ye Wen knew that all Celestial Demons, from the lowest ranks to their Primordial leaders, were ultimately puppets of the Celestial Demon Primordial. If left unmanipulated, they retained fragments of twisted autonomy. But under direct control, they became nothing more than playthings, incapable of even feigning self will.
In truth, the Celestial Demon "civilization" was simply a single entity an extension of the Primordial alone. And its most powerful weapon was its ability to consume and repurpose other beings to strengthen itself. By leeching off Douluo, it hoped to siphon vitality from within, transforming Douluo into its own host.
But Shura was one matter. Now, his wife was being used to strike at him. The humiliation and rage this inflicted on Ye Wen were unbearable.
"You… will die for this!" Ye Wen's killing intent peaked, and his domain reactivated in an instant.
The four responded with perfect synchronicity, activating the same dark domain technique Ye Wen had just clashed against. But this time, he couldn't dominate them outright; he was still recovering from his earlier fight. And this time, the opposing domain was held together by his wife's overwhelming, godly presence. Unlike Shura and the others, she was a Supreme God King herself, and her influence turned the dark field against him.
Nana's elegant face twisted into a perverse smile as she gloated, "Surrender, Ye Wen. Once you're mine, I'll make Douluo shine even brighter under my rule."
"Enough nonsense," Ye Wen growled, raising his Boundless Sea Blade and launching a counteroffensive. "You only feed off others like a parasite. You'll never grasp the true strength of a civilization!"
Nana only laughed more arrogantly as she and the others attacked, taunting him with venomous words. "Say what you will, God King of the Boundless Seas. I've seen countless 'mighty' fools like you fall. Knowing my essence has changed nothing for any of them!
"And really, your wife's body is exquisite. She's as powerful as a god can be in this world, and I've got to admit, her physical form is… tempting. I think I'll try it out with Shura once I've taken you down."
At this twisted declaration, Ye Wen's blood boiled. The fiend not only possessed Nana's body but dared to further desecrate her honor. Tears silently traced his cheek as he made a pained decision.
"Nana, I love you," Ye Wen whispered in his heart.
He pushed past the assaults of the other Primordials, condensing all his strength and launching it at Nana.
"Supreme Divine Technique: Endless Extinction!"
If it cost him his life, so be it. Ye Wen would not tolerate his loved ones being degraded in such a way. He owed Nana peace, and he would bear the grief that came after.
"Let this end your suffering, Nana," he thought, his heart heavy with sorrow. "I'll live on for both of us, and I'll take care of our children."
Sensing the fatal power of Endless Extinction, the Primordial controlling Nana's body panicked, frantically trying to flee. Hit with the Requiem Law, even the Celestial Demon Primordial would suffer grave injuries.
Just as the Dragon God had perished, the Primordial tried to escape but found itself unable to break free.
"What? Why can't I get out of here?" Nana's expression twisted in horror.
The blast struck her squarely, and though it left her severely wounded, she didn't dissipate entirely as Ye Wen had expected.
"What's going on?"
Ye Wen was baffled, his attention split as he deflected the other three Primordials' attacks.

Chapter 649: Let's Die Together
Severely wounded, Nana's expression shifted, and half of her previously twisted face returned to its serene, icy beauty.
"Fool," she sneered. "Did you really think that twisting the will of my split soul was enough to erase who I am? You underestimated me, didn't you? I may be one entity with two souls, but as long as the other part of me exists, I can realign my consciousness at any time. I let you corrupt me only so that you'd let your guard down."
The real Nana turned to Ye Wen, who was still entangled in battle, and a look of calm acceptance softened her face as she spoke.
"Hurry, my love. I can't hold him for much longer."
In that single, brief sentence, Ye Wen, through the many years they had spent together, understood her intent. As one of the highest ranked beings in the Douluo Civilization, rivaling even the former Dragon God, Nana couldn't possibly have been overtaken by the Celestial Demon Primordial so quietly and easily.
She had discerned, as Ye Wen had, that the Celestial Demon Primordial was a fiendish foe, so she had woven herself into a trap.
Since attaining godhood, Ye Wen had faced thousands of enemies, many of them powerful and tenacious. But he had learned that no matter how strong, every being had its flaws. No existence could be perfect, and each had exploitable weaknesses.
The Celestial Demon Primordial's flaw lay in its need to manifest fully when controlling other Celestial Demon Primordials. To attempt dominion over a Supreme God King like Ye Wen, it had to reveal its true form, giving Ye Wen his only chance to counter it.
But this cunning Primordial would never expose itself unless it felt almost certain of victory. It preferred to skulk in the shadows, undermining Ye Wen through schemes that harmed those he loved. After all, with endless negative energy at its disposal, as long as its twisted extradimensional world endured, it would survive indefinitely.
Nana saw this clearly, so she'd offered herself as bait, willingly succumbing to the dark transformation into a Celestial Demon Primordial. Her aim was to bind the Celestial Demon Primordial's consciousness and prevent it from escaping at the opportune moment.
The Celestial Demon Primordial had been unfortunate in its choice. Obsessed with powerful hosts, it had unwittingly chosen Nana a unique anomaly. As the Silver Dragon King, she was a split soul, one half of the Dragon God who had split himself into the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King. To adapt to the world of Douluo, she had further split her personality, creating another entity named Na'er.
Since then, the Silver Dragon King had been a dual existence, two separate entities bound in one body, each capable of sensing and understanding the other's thoughts and feelings. At one time, Nana had contemplated reabsorbing Na'er to become whole again, but Ye Wen's intervention had led her to let go of this idea, ultimately bringing her to where she stood today.
Now, for the first time, Nana felt grateful for having spared her other self. Only with Na'er could she defend Douluo Civilization and prevent it from falling into an endless abyss.
Ye Wen, feeling the weight of their memories, found his own eyes moist. Despite the pain, he knew he had to act swiftly. Gathering his strength and drawing upon Douluo Star's support, he restored his divine power and launched his next attack.
"Supreme Divine Technique: Endless Extinction!"
In three simple but devastating strikes, Ye Wen's blade slashed through the bodies of Shura, Rose, and Jörmungandr. These three top tier God Kings, each mighty enough to dominate entire realms, fell, obliterated by his hand.
Witnessing this, the Celestial Demon Primordial's face, still partially merged with Nana's, contorted in fear. Desperately, it increased its hold over her, even as she fought to resist.
Nana's face was etched with pain, her divine energy flickering erratically. It was clear she had nearly exhausted herself trying to keep the Celestial Demon Primordial contained within her.
Barely able to breathe from his own fatigue, Ye Wen threw himself toward Nana, injecting his own spiritual energy into their mental tug of war. As his godly power regenerated, he prepared to unleash one final strike to end the Celestial Demon Primordial once and for all.
In this vast universe, only the most extraordinary could reach the level of Supreme God King. Ye Wen had achieved his peak by traveling across parallel worlds, relentlessly honing himself, while the Celestial Demon Primordial had survived for eons, perhaps even longer than Ye Wen, drawing strength from its extradimensional realm of negative energy.
A direct contest of spiritual power would be futile both understood that. But Ye Wen and Nana also knew that if they let this chance slip by, this wily foe would only grow harder to defeat. Despite the toll on their very souls and their willingness to consume their life essence, they would hold him here until the end.
"You two maniacs!" the Celestial Demon Primordial screeched, finally afraid. It sensed Ye Wen's divine power regenerating quickly, amassing a strike even more powerful than the Extinction Law. "Are you trying to die with me?!"
Ye Wen's gaze bored into the Primordial's eyes through Nana's face, filled with an unquenchable rage.
"You heartless fiend! What does life mean to you? What has Douluo Civilization, which we have protected with our lives, meant to you? Is life itself so worthless in your eyes?"
He gathered every ounce of power from his Boundless Sea divinity, fusing his godly principles into a horrifyingly potent concoction of energies.
"If you delight in mocking life, then today, I'll make your miserable existence pay for every atrocity you've committed!"
"Supreme Divine Technique: Eternal Cataclysm of Ultimate Extinction!"
He compressed the divine principles of his Boundless Sea divinity to their utmost, creating a chemical reaction of unfathomable devastation. Reality itself seemed to collapse, order dissolving into chaos. Even his Boundless Sea Blade, unable to bear the overwhelming power, began to crack and splinter a testament to the technique's sheer magnitude.
The Celestial Demon Primordial felt an unprecedented terror, recognizing that this attack went far beyond annihilating a Supreme God King. It carried principles of cause and effect, the Extinction Law, and other intertwined forces, each designed to trace its essence back to its very source, eradicating every last contingency it had set in place for revival.
"No! No, I can't die here! I am destined for more bound for supremacy beyond even this universe! I am greatness incarnate, and I won't perish in this forsaken corner of existence!" it screamed internally.
In its desperation, the Celestial Demon Primordial severed its connection to Nana's body, heedless of the harm to its own core.
But Ye Wen would not allow its escape.
Reforging the connection between their spirits, he directed his ultimate technique toward its essence, aiming to obliterate the Celestial Demon Primordial's very foundation.
"Think you can run? Then let's die together!"

Chapter 650: I Kept My Promise, Didn't I?
"Damn you! You lunatic! Are you really going to die with me?" The Celestial Demon Primordial's voice was filled with terror and despair, for Ye Wen's attack had latched onto its essence, following the laws of cause and effect to obliterate every trace of its existence from this universe.
"I refuse to accept this!" it screamed in a final, desperate wail as it perished. With the Celestial Demon Primordial's death, every demon it had corrupted paused and then gradually faded away. In their last moments, many seemed to reclaim their former selves, some showing regret, others relief, and still others peace. And so, the cancer of the universe, the Celestial Demon civilization, was finally erased.
But Ye Wen had paid a steep price for this victory. Now, he waited calmly for death, knowing that his own ultimate technique was claiming him as well. The Eternal Cataclysm was now like a candle flame consuming what remained of him, Nana, and Na'er.
In these final moments, Ye Wen felt no regrets. He had lived long enough to find fulfillment. In that vast expanse of time, he had found a family, children, and had even brought his grandfather back to life. He had elevated Douluo Civilization to an era of unparalleled prosperity.
If he had one regret…
"I'm sorry, Nana, and Na'er. If I had only found a way to destroy the Celestial Demon Primordial sooner, you wouldn't have had to sacrifice yourselves," he said, his voice heavy with guilt.
But neither Nana nor Na'er held any blame for him. Nana reached out a delicate hand to stroke Ye Wen's face, her eyes full of love.
"You silly man, we did what we did for our family. Even if I had to choose all over again, I would make the same decision. To have been your wife… we've never had any regrets."
With these words, Nana's hand dropped weakly. The battle between her soul and the Celestial Demon Primordial had drained her and Na'er, who watched from across the cosmos, of every last ounce of strength. Now, they both waited in silence for death. Ye Wen's technique, a final act of destruction imbued with the law of cause and effect, would erase every trace of their existence.
Ye Wen himself would not escape the toll. He had left countless avatars across parallel worlds, so even with his physical demise, his avatars could eventually converge and restore his godly status. Yet Ye Wen was too exhausted to dwell on such details. He simply savored this final, peaceful moment.
Meanwhile, the God Kings who had stayed behind to stabilize Douluo Star were now converging on the battlefield, drawn to their Supreme Leader's location. Snow Empress, a Supreme God King herself and now fused with Douluo Star's Will, arrived first, her face a mask of cold composure.
Upon seeing her, Ye Wen managed a weary smile. "Snow Empress, I kept my promise, didn't I?"
For once, the eternally aloof Snow Empress shed tears. She nodded, recalling Ye Wen's journey: the once mortal savior from a higher dimension who had battled through countless trials. He hadn't merely saved Douluo Star's future; he had lifted it to heights unimaginable. The Douluo Will had rescued Ye Wen's soul once, but he had repaid this act with unwavering devotion, even beyond what was owed. Yet he had stayed, tethered by his love for his family and his world.
As more and more God Kings arrived, Ye Wen looked upon each familiar face, his gaze filled with both pride and sorrow.
"Ayin, Dong'er, Xi, Qian Qian, Xue Xue, Xue'er, Tianxin, Tianchen, Tianshui, Tianshun…" he whispered their names one by one, relief softening his expression. "You're all safe… thank goodness."
At these words, his family broke down in tears. Ye Wen had never been one to seek excess or indulgence; each person in his family had entered his life due to various twists of fate. But he had cherished every relationship, never neglecting or favoring one over the other.
He then turned to his disciples. "And you're all safe too… I'm so glad." Even Huorui, who had endured endless hardship without shedding a tear before joining Ye Wen, now cried openly, knowing they were about to lose the one who had loved and protected them most.
Time was running out. With the destructive law erasing half his body already, Ye Wen knew he had mere moments left. As the Supreme Leader of Douluo Civilization, he understood the danger of leaving his responsibilities unfulfilled. Without a smooth transfer of power, the Douluo world could plunge into turmoil, dragging his loved ones down with it something he could not bear.
After surveying everyone present, his gaze settled on Snow Empress.
"To everyone here," he announced, his voice carrying a finality they could not deny, "I name the Reincarnation God King as my interim successor. Once my avatars in other dimensions return, we'll decide on further plans."
Snow Empress was a natural choice, possessing the strength of a Supreme God King and backed by Douluo Star's Will. With her authority, plus her longstanding connection to Ye Wen, she would be the best candidate to protect Douluo Star from chaos.
As he prepared to bid his family a final farewell, an overwhelming wave of divine power descended from afar. It was a familiar yet enigmatic energy. In his deteriorating state, Ye Wen couldn't pinpoint the source; his mind was foggy as his body continued to disintegrate.
"Who could it be…?" he wondered, his thoughts trailing off as darkness claimed him.
The others turned in shock as the remnants of Ye Wen and Nana were snatched by this mysterious newcomer.
A clear, cold voice echoed through the cosmos. "Am I… too late? Master…"
But Ayin and the others weren't concerned with who the voice belonged to. Someone had dared to take their husband from them before their very eyes! Even Snow Empress, the most powerful among them, found herself immobilized, unable to challenge the newcomer's power. Everyone was stunned.
The figure spoke again, dismissively. "Since you couldn't protect Master yourselves, I'll take him instead. But don't worry I'll bring him back whole and sound. When I do, we'll be sisters."
As the mysterious figure's words faded, she vanished from sight, leaving everyone else frozen in awe.
