Chapter 216 - Two Years Later

Years passed in a flash, and before anyone realized it, Xinya had been gone for over two years. Although Planet Moyi had suffered a massive global earthquake and core shifts two years ago, it did not result in heavy casualties. Not a single resident of the slum districts perished; one must admit that Xinya's efforts played a part in this miracle. In contrast, in the shelters located on distant extra-planetary satellites, an accidental oxygen leak caused all the elite upper-class personnel to suffocate in space. Consequently, the powerful and wealthy who once controlled the world were essentially wiped out. The surviving humans began rebuilding their beautiful homes—perhaps all of this was part of the arrangements of the Heavenly Dao.

"Good morning, everyone!" Today, Xinya arrived at the temple as usual, carrying meticulously prepared delicacies. "Good day to you, Miss Xinya." By now, she had grown accustomed to life in the Divine Realm. Although one could obtain life energy without eating or drinking there, Xinya maintained her habit of eating three meals a day. Naturally, the deities of the Divine Realm had to change their lifestyles to accompany her; she had become like the Queen of the Divine Realm.

"The God Master is still refining at the Silver Sky Pool. Miss Xinya, please wait a moment," the priests greeted her politely. "It's fine, it's fine! I prepared a sumptuous breakfast today, let's all enjoy it together!" Xinya hosted the priests naturally. Although the priests wanted to decline, they couldn't resist Xinya's enthusiasm—plus, her cooking was simply too delicious. Priest Babading immediately used a divine spell to create a dining table for Xinya to set the food upon. Everyone couldn't wait for Lian Kong's return and began tasting the food.

"We feel quite embarrassed to always be looked after by Miss Xinya," the priests said while tasting the delicacies. "It's a small matter. This is the only thing I can do here. Please, eat as much as you like; I prepared plenty of food this morning!" Xinya replied with a smile. Before long, Lian Kong finished his business and returned to the temple. "It seems everyone has been won over by Xinya." Seeing the priests devouring the food, he also slowly took a seat. Although living beings cannot be killed in the Divine Realm and Xinya always made vegetarian dishes, her careful seasoning gave the vegetarian food a texture no less than that of meat. "This portion is for you." Xinya set out the utensils and food for Lian Kong. "Heh, it truly is a blessing to be able to taste the fine food you make every day," Lian Kong said with a smile as he began to enjoy the meal. "If you don't have other important matters today, come with me back to my hometown to collect ingredients." Although Lian Kong had originally set a rule never to return, he had eventually compromised under Xinya's persistent softening. Occasionally, he would take her back to Planet Moyi, and the frequency was even increasing.

The priests were not surprised; they had long since regarded Xinya as Lian Kong's partner. Over these two years, under Lian Kong's guidance, Xinya had also developed her soul potential, learning to use eight types of The power of the universe and stepping into the realm of a demi-god. After finishing breakfast, Lian Kong made arrangements: "I will leave the trivial matters to you today; I am heading out for a while." He then took Xinya's hand with a smile and they departed.

On Planet Moyi, the traces of disaster were being gradually erased by nature. The remaining humans were rebuilding a new home, and a new government had initiated democratic supervision and co-governance. All kinds of malicious incidents had greatly decreased, and even the slum districts had nearly disappeared. The former poor had moved into the new city, gaining their own new homes and jobs. All members of the Supplies Procurement Office had survived and were incorporated into the capital's Civil Affairs Execution Team, beginning formal civil service work.

"Hi everyone, I'm back again!" As soon as Xinya landed, she began greeting the team members. "It's Xinya! You came quite early today." Sesi and Qili, seeing their familiar friend, hurried over to meet her. "The Captain and Jesse are out on official business; it's just the two of us organizing archives," Qili invited the two of them to sit down.

"It seems that even without me, everyone is doing an excellent job!" Xinya, the former Vice-Captain, expressed deep satisfaction with everyone's work. "Ha! I'm the Vice-Captain now, you've been fired! By the way, if you two ever have a wedding, I definitely have to be a bridesmaid!" Sai Ying began to tease. Upon hearing this, Xinya blushed and retorted. "Gods are not permitted to marry," Lian Kong added with a serious face. Everyone already knew this guy had a "tongue of iron but a heart of sugar," and they laughed without exposing him. "Understood. So, have you picked a date yet? If not, let me help you decide," Sai Ying asked mockingly. "No, the timing of such a ceremony must be arranged with great care," Lian Kong said, pondering seriously. "Hahaha, you just gave yourself away!" Qili burst out laughing. Seeing this, Xinya lowered her head in embarrassment and remained silent.
