"Are you sure this is safe, son? Do you really have to do this?" Damon's father asked. "I know I'm not in any position to tell you what to do anymore… but this… this feels dangerous. Going to a whole other planet… where even is that planet?"
Damon shook his head slightly. "I don't know those details yet. Once I find out, I'll have to leave immediately. If I delay, the other person might notice."
His father slowly nodded, though the worry on his face did not fade. Years of raising Damon had taught him when his son had already made up his mind. There was no point arguing now.
Damon's mother sat quietly nearby, her hands tightly clasped together. The concern in her eyes was obvious, even though she tried not to show it. The idea of her son leaving Earth, leaving the entire planet, was something she had never imagined she would have to accept.
"You just got through so much already. Can't you at least take a break? Even for just a couple of days?"
